TRR has had and will continue to experience authenticity concerns based on a variety of internal issues. If you state Bababebi authenticated the Kelly then you shouldn’t have a worry. To be 100% with out a doubt purchasing directly from Hermes eleviates any concerns.

A red VIF- yummy....congrats to you❤
Thank u! I’m quite excited even though I live in NorCal and everything is super casual. Plus lockdown! It’s a 2004 but seems to be in excellent condition. I hope to pass it to my daughter one day.

what about other places- fashionphile? Same issues as trr or better ?

Based on my personal experience with FP over the years, I’d prefer them over TRR hands down. Ann’s Fabulous Finds is amazing as well.

Yes TRR pics are almost useless. And their valuation is schizophrenic (2 items of same bag, widely different condition will be priced the same or worse bag more $$).

However, I have had great experience selling with them and also purchasing an H discontinued model with @bababebi authentication. (Also IMO under the radar bags are much less risky.)

I was lucky enough to meet a woman where I work who is passionate about Hermes and used to live in the US-she worked for FP for awhile and highly recommended them to me for pre-loved H bags saying that their Authentication procedures and training was excellent.
Ditto she also rated AFF highly.
Sadly because I live in the UK the import duties add so much to an already expensive purchase that I just cannot go there!
(I got caught once buying a Loewe bag and the import tax and shipping etc etc added over $400 to the purchase with a Hermes it would probably nearer $2000!)

I've thought about this a lot. It makes sense that counterfeiters would spend their time and energy on the most highly in demand bags like Birkin and Kellys. Perhaps much less complicated bags like Jiges too. But do all you more experienced TPFers think that's it less of a risk on the "under the radar" bags? Bolides? Picos (though they are kind of in the Jige category of minimal complications I guess)?

I'm not sure if the Bolide is totally under the radar (LV, The Row, Balenciaga all make a version of this bag). However, I have successfully bought a Bolide on FP (discontinued leather) and two other discontinued H models on TRR. To me it seems like you are right, heaviest demand bags are highest risk for fakery.

Had an interesting interaction with Vestaire Collective; the vintage H bag I purchased a couple of weeks ago didn’t meet QC expectations and VC gave the option of canceling my order. I ended up cancelling since it was too significant of a purchase for any quality concerns, and it was sold from an individual so it was not eligible for return should I not be happy with the quality once I saw it. Plus I wasn’t able to get bababebi to authenticate before purchase as I knew the pictures wouldn’t be good enough for her to judge, hence why I didn’t ask here or reach out via her site.

I’m honestly pretty happy with how VC handled the situation, and I should have my full refund within a week. That said I don’t think I’ll be looking on VC or purchasing from VC again. Both Rebag and Ann’s list items there but the items are always cheaper on their actual website and I don’t like that items sold from an individual cannot be returned.

Just wanted to report back to you all that I had an amazing experience with @bababebi for authentication. For sure she is THE expert and you should all take advantage of her services when not purchasing a bag directly from the boutique. Not to get into specific details, but she sees things that you would never believe! This only comes from experience and she has the most.

Also not sure if there are cases to do the short form but I think everyone should just go ahead and do the long form with her. It’s so worth it!

I've seen quite a few fake Bolides. Sadly saw one at lunch with some friends recently. Didn't know the person well and no idea if she knew.
Everything can be and is faked. People tell me you can't fake Box and Barenia, but I've seen both. The least likely would be discontinued and very under radar bags like Massai, Gao, Christine, etc.

Hi guys. Found few Hermès on Russian platform avito. Never bought before on second hand market. What do you think of it? Please help, if anyone understands. What u think of think Birkin Togo 40?
Maybe it's too late but I have to say about the website that you picked up.
Russian platform Avito -> Totally fake!!!!!
I googled Hermes birkin and I found my birkin was on listing and selling in Russian Avito site.
I sold my birkin to lovely lady in the UK via ebay a couple of months ago.
The fake seller stole my photos from ebay and used it for selling their fake birkins.
I'm so sure that there's high risks to buy valuable handbags from Avito. Even if those photos took of authentic handbags, this cannot be meant that their handbags are genuine as the photos are just stolen from google.
Many thanks.
