Hi all wanted to write up my excellent experience with https://www.vintage-hermes-scarf.com/. Extremely rare Jaguar Quetzal 140cm find at a great price (she’s giving a 10% quarantine discount right now). Shipping was free & quick, everything impeccably packaged, and the scarf itself was in mint condition. I’m talking store fresh. I highly recommend this site, and the owner Jan Goode was super responsive to email etc. I also got an unexpected gift with purchase of a matching bracelet (non Hermes).

Can anyone share their experiences about import tax when purchasing from an overseas reseller? I’m from Australia and we get charged a hefty amount so wondering if it’s even worth looking at IG resellers! :hrmm:

Hello

has anyone seen the ninon bucket bag in real life and what did you think of it?

thank you!

I am in the U.S. and just purchased from an IG seller. They asked me what amount I wanted to declare the items for as this will impact the potential tax as well as if the item is lost/stolen. They can state it is a gift and value it at a lower cost. The import tax will depend on the country’s customs & duties table calculation. The U.S. allows for $800 at no additional tax and then above that amount a percentage is calculated based on what category the item falls into when looking at the tables. 9% seems to be the going rate for items such as handbags. Sometimes the shipping company will collect the amount due and other times I’ve heard of people receiving a bill a year later.

There are currently two scarves on eBay UK that were listed at exactly the same time and starting from the same price. Both sellers are private, based in Paris:
Scarf 1 - 164340190532 - Hermes 100% Silk Scarf 90 Cosmographia Universalis Orange Designed Jan Bajtlik Seller exclusiv-boutique
Scarf 2 - 224119810247 - Hermes 100% Silk Scarf 90cm The Three Graces Alice Shirley Black Animal Giraffe Seller: asgartha

It is not against eBay policy for one seller to have multiple accounts. Thoughts?

Well, personally I think the label on the Three Graces looks a bit off...

Anyone purchase from Beau et Luxury, EtikaFatma on Instagram? She responded quickly and provided me with additional photos of the bag, but only accepts wire transfer as payment. I'm very nervous about doing this especially after reading recent posts. https://www.instagram.com/etikafatma/
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Never, ever pay by wire transfer IMO. As a seller I only take payment forms that protect my buyers and it is worth the fees to me. Yes - I increase the price to cover it. It's 3% domestically and a little more internationally for PayPal, close to that ( a bit more) for credit cards, and I think beyond worth it on both sides for peace of mind. (I will waive this for people I know personally and long-term.)
If this bag is not authentic/damaged/in any way not as described/you receive a box of rocks/you receive nothing - you have no recourse. Any seller that insists on wire transfer is suspect to me. I only pay wire transfer direct to an Hermes boutique.
