For what it’s worth, I’ve had many buying and selling experiences with Ann’s and wouldn’t hesitate to use them again. They are always my first choice.

True, you’re not always sure when your item will be posted but if anything is incorrect in the description, other than condition, they’ve always happily changed it right away. I’ve never had any problems with how they describe the items and the photographs are usually excellent. The same with price - you can suggest listing at a price lower than their suggested pricing if you’re after a quick sale, or a higher one if you think it’s valid. If an item is unsold for a while you can lower the price or have it put on sale.

Sometimes an item is not marked sold right away when it has sold, or is on hold, but again a quick email answers that question if you’re anxious about it. So no, it’s not a completely hands-off experience every single time but I’d be keeping an eye on it anyway.

The quality and condition of everything I’ve purchased has been exceptional, and communication is always friendly and prompt.

I would echo the feeling that the front page is not very large and I feel that things slip out of sight quickly, especially with their increased business now. Perhaps changing that format would be useful. But overall, they have done a wonderful job for me.

I guess no consignment company is perfect. Personally, when I browse TRR, FP and Yoogis, I find their photos are really bad and limited to the point of no way of authenticating. Had one quotation for a bag from Yoogi's which was so low it was laughable. The same bag was later sold with AFF for more than double of Yoogi's quote.

Several points on AFF based on my limited experience:

1. They don't tell you when your item will appear on their site and there is no way of reviewing the description before hand. They will tell you it will take about 2-3 weeks between they receive it and listing is up. But you need to be on top of their game and ask them when it will appear. Once your item appears on their site, you can review and ask them to change the description but they are fairly firm in their condition report. e.g. if you think something is mint but they don't, they won't change it.
2. But they will change the price. AFF will recommend a price range but ultimately you decide how much you want it on for. They will confirm the price before they list. You can subsequently decide when to reduce and by how much.
3. Unless for some really popular designers and styles, they don't really do buy-out option.
4. Once the bag is sold, pay-out is fairly quick. They have payment cycles but for high value items, if you email them, they will pay outside their cycle.

Both your posts echoed my experiences with AFF. i would add they are always responsive and reasonable when discussing anything you may disagree with them on including price, changing descriptions and also retaking pictures of an item.

I once sold a bag through them where the keys do not match the lock!! I never realised because I never ever check them when i buy the bags nor do I ever use them because to me they are pointless things! I wish H would get rid of them. Anyway AFF helped the buyer to get replacement keys for the lock from H once I told them I didn't mix up the keys since i never ever take them out of the boxes ever. They didn't charge me for their troubles which is really technically my fault! I thought that was great customer service.

Thank you for sharing your experience! IMO they have demonstrated excellent customer service for BOTH consignors and buyers in your case!

I too, have had nothing but prompt, pleasant interaction with AFF, both selling and buying. I usually agree with their price suggestions, because, hey, the higher it's priced the more AFF makes off of it, so I figure Ann would not undervalue something. They are my only go-to for selling, and I buy from AFF, Yoogi's, Fashionphile and for Hermes, our own docride on e Bay.

Once I sent a Birkin to AFF and somehow they misplaced the clochette, lock and keys. They paid for me to replace it.

Overall I have had very pleasant experiences as a Consignor with AFF. I never bought from them. Every time I message, I receive a prompt reply. TRR takes at least a few days, maybe longer to answer me. I noticed AFF added more brands to consign. Perhaps some of the problems people encounter are due to 'growing pains'. At least with my interactions with them, the staff wants to please.
