Treatment in Hermes Stores

Me as well - even in the Greenwich store, the SAs have always been friendly. I only drive up every so often for a little day trip with my best friend. I was even shocked that the SA called me when something I had mentioned came in. So I’d love to know who this SA was (certainly she won’t last very long there if that’s how she treats customers, that boutique never seems to be crowded). I have no reason to believe OPs experience was anything other than she stated here, and this behavior on the part of the SA sounds inexplicably bad.

Actually I have sent emails to corporate to highlight amazing service.

That’s why it’s there, folks. Know your fellow TPFers, look at the length of membership and quality of participation. Not in this case, but sometimes I look to see if a particular member tends toward the negative in general or is never otherwise in this subforum....

I’m not sure what happened with my experience with the Greenwich store. I went in with a good attitude and was definitely there not to waste anyone’s time. It just happened that the experience I had with the SA was bad. I don’t want to name her on here because I’m not here to start trouble, I was mainly ranting when I made my post because I was super upset about the situation.
I’ve since gone to a NY boutique and received great service.
I’ve also gone back to the Greenwich store and switched SAs. The old SA was there and gave me dagger eyes, but I was taken care of by a much nicer lady.

Hope you found an H with a friendly SA

Sharing a fun perspective on SAs: I dropped by H unexpectedly because I was in the area and I had this feeling that the scarf I wanted had arrived. Walked in and was told my SA was not in that day and another SA whom I work with had just gone on her dinner break. I didn't mind just browsing for a while but my H doesn't like to leave anyone unattended. So this young lady comes along to assist me. I suspect she is from the office, rather than the sales floor - sometimes they are expected to help if the ratio of sales staff to customers goes wonky. She wasn't unfriendly, just very intense and not smiley. She thawed when I told her exactly what I wanted. And then thawed further when I greeted another SA who had just returned from his break. My next visit, when I told my SA about the encounter, she laughed and said I'd made an impression on the intense young lady - she had never had a customer before who came armed with colour print-outs of the scarf range :smartass: I think I intimidated her

Thank you for sharing your story!
Haha that’s so funny though, at least you cracked her!

I have gone to NY since, and found a great SA. I’ve also gone back to Greenwich and switched SAs as well. So it’s been going well :)

Congrats!
And on my last visit to H, she was the only staff member free to attend to me, so we "bonded" again. She did swiftly alert my SA that I was there, so the handover was quick. I'm probably less scary with repeated exposure :roflmfao:

I could not agree with you more about the miami store. The staff there is simply the best. My sa, Jackie, goes above and beyond to get me want I want as well as to introduce me to new items she thinks i will like. She just got me my dream bag and was just as excited as I was. I love it there and wouldn't dream of going anywhere else.
Sure I met Jackie .She is very sweet .I think Hermes at Miami District have the best SA's but i am not giving up Andrea that easily..haha .Its nice to have someone so knowledgeable as my SA Andrea about leathers before purchase since i keep my bags forever and they stay classic.

I recently purchased the h heure watch in store. Unfortunately my sa was off that day and she asked another sa to help me. But the other sa was out for lunch when I arrived so another sa was helping me. The strap of the watch was a little too long for me so she told me that she can help me make an extra hole. Guess what happened?! It's soooooooo out of line. [emoji20] i bought a black strap so when I see it from the front its not that obvious but when I turn it around I really want to cry for trusting that sa for doing a great job. It's my fault too I didn't check the item properly. Anyway.. I told my sa she apologized sincerely but the not other woman! I just think it's rude. Not the kind of service I would expect frm H stores. :(

If anyone needs a great SA in Greenwich feel free to PM me. I’ve been spent 2yrs building a relationship with this SA (and was able to score a K from her). She is always really friend and will take her time wth you. She’ll pull out all the scarfs and bracelets you want to see and checks in back for stocks. From my experience she doesnt give off the vibe that she is looking down on you even when you arent dressed to the nines.

So I want a Birkin bag and I am determined to build a good relationship with a Hermés SA.
I don't have any Hermés products besides perfume bottles that I bought online.

So I went to my local Hermés boutique to buy a Hermés cologne. Well the moment I entered the Hermés boutique a SA (very kind and smiley, btw) looked at me up and down and helped me with everything I wanted. She also showed me exclusive fragrances and made sure I tried them all on my skin. We spent about half an hour talking about Hermés perfumes and my love for classic fragrances. She said it was a "relief to see a young woman like you who knows how to value classic fragrances and brands".

After I bought the perfume she gave me her personal business card with her mobile phone, telling me I could call her asking for new products. When I got home, she had sent me an email thanking me for going to the store that day. I don't know if this is common and if this is a standard procedure from all Hermés SAs. I found her so nice and she treated me absurdly well! I usually buy at Chanel, Gucci, Louis Vuitton and Saint Laurent and thought everybody is nice they have never treated me so well like that Hermés SA did, and they never personally sent me an email thanking me for my purchase!

Does that happen all the time at Hermés?
Is this a good sign?
Am I on the right track to get a Birkin?

Hello! What a lovely experience! I think many of us had read about not so pleasant encounters instead of good ones. I have encountered far more lovely SAs anywhere than any bad ones. Even at H, I have once stepped in with non H items and I was treated with much warmth. SAs are like us, good days, not so good days, and we all appreciate a nice smile and great attitude vice versa. Thank you for sharing, what a lovely positive experience. I hope you can have a good relationship with you SA and have your dream bag soon!

You went in and showed interest in the brand.
If you can continue to just enjoy the shopping experience and the items you buy, you should develop the rapport you want. However it's not the best idea to work exclusively with one SA. Become known in the store and chat with many.
It must be refreshing for any SA to find a new client who is not just angling for a Birkin, although you did write in your post that that is what you want.

This has started well, but you will have to make your wider goal clear sooner rather than later.

It would be interesting to know where you are.
