They had a Pitcon 18 in Noir in the boutique!
It’s so cute and slouchy! Again, if I wasn’t saving for the B I might go for it.
For now, really looking to get whatever I decide on pre-loved to save some money.
I got on the wishlist for the B in 25 and 30.
The SA wasn’t very hopeful, she basically told me that they will be going to higher priority clients that have an existing purchase history.
The boutique in my state is very small, so they only get a few and give them to their favorite customers. She told me I’d have a better chance in NYC, but I still wanted to be added to the wishlist just in case.
I did order a little Le 24 coin purse to start me off though! Haha
I agree, that’s why I made my small purchase over the phone with a different location.
She even told me to look online when I mentioned SLGs like she didn’t want me to waste her time with a small purchase. So I didn’t.
But, I also won’t let her stop me from getting the bag I want if I decide on the Picotin. There’s only 1 H boutique in my state so I’m going to have to go in and just suck it up and buy the bag.
I give them my business because I want the items. Some items I just simply want new from the boutique. I’ve ordered a couple items from over the phone in a different state, but sometimes it’s just convenient for me to go and pick up my item if it’s in my state.
I guess I’m just ranting at this point.
I guess if it were me that kind of treatment would put a severe damper on my want for the items. They are just material things after all, and there are so many other beautiful options out there.
Hi Miss Christine and welcome to the H sub-forum!
I've posted a couple of your quotes (from another thread) just to provide some context to my thoughts.
According to your posts, your first visit to your H store (in CT) was this past Saturday where you looked at bags. It appears that on this visit, you made a request for a Birkin, and it looks like you were put on a waitlist according to the first post, above. You returned on Tuesday to purchase the Pico, which you seem to really enjoy (congratulations - clemence is such a wonderful leather and noir is just so classic!). The some time that went by, seems to only be a day or so, prior to your twilly quest. Not clear whether the trip for the scarf was a third trip (Sat, Tues, Wed??) or part of the first two trips.
At any rate, my point is that you are just beginning this journey and whether you choose to shop at this boutique or go to another, it's very early days with respect to determining whether you'll get an offer for a birkin. Please also bear in mind that you seem to be focused on a B25 (maybe 30?) in noir, so this will take longer.
In terms of the lack of helpfulness, I can share that the SAs do not know necessarily know what their SMs have ordered, much less when the item might be expected, and I'm not just referring to bags. The reason that the stock at stores varies is because H allows the SMs to buy based on what they expect to sell to their local clientele. I haven't called the 800 number to order anything (just have done it directly on the site when I've seen something that I didn't want to risk waiting for it to show up in my local store), so I can't comment on the ability of the remote customer service rep to comment on live inventory status of a given store. Gosh, IKEA doesn't even get this accurately! Also, just as you were hoping to have the twilly put aside, perhaps it was only showing in the inventory as available because the customer had not finalized her/his purchase.
Lastly, SAs definitely (at least in my store) get very busy with phone orders.
I don't shop at the CT store, and I don't know anyone there, so I have no skin in the game. I am not attempting to excuse rude behavior, just trying to share a bit of what I've gleaned in my H experience.
Lastly, I wish you PATIENCE!

And honestly I’m not even too concerned with the Birkin at this point, just the snooty behavior. I guess I am cramming in a lot of purchases in a small time frame, and I feel like I’m bothering them...but I’m still purchasing you know? It’s not like I’m wasting their time.
This is why I will never buy one of these "top shelf" bags. I have no time or desire to be treated like dirt under your shoe and still spend 10k+! I mean really!!I'm very new to Hermes but I’ve fallen in love with it the past few weeks.
I went into the only boutique in my state and wanted to take a look at all the pieces. As soon as I went it, it didn’t feel welcoming? Almost like everyone was grumpy. I told myself that it was all in my head and continued to browse and as a SA some questions about different bags I was interested in. She didn’t really seem into it, but she wrote down some bag names on her card and then I left. I wanted to purchase a SLG but she told me to do it online and that she didn’t have much time or options to show me in store.
I went home to research the bags and then decided on the Picotin.
I went back to see her and purchased the bag with her. I also purchased a fragrance for my mom.
I asked her if she can help track down another bag for me and she said that she doesn’t know what comes in so, no.
I asked her if the leather Atout pouch is still available and If she can help track one down. She said no, check online.
I asked her if she could put me on the wishlist for a Birkin in Noir. She told me that I wouldn’t be a candidate to get an offer for one and pretty much made me feel like it would never happen.
I was carrying my chanel classic flap and she points to it and says “Birkins are handmade unlike that (point to my bag).
I wanted to get my friend a scarf for her bday and I called to see if they had the one I wanted. They said no.
I called the 800 number to see where I can track one down and they told me my boutique had them. I go in, there it is.
Some time goes by and I call the 800 number to ask about a twilly and they told me my boutique has one in stock. I don’t really want to call, but I do.
I called the boutique and asked to speak with my SA about making sure the twilly is in store (only showed one on the system) and to set it aside so I can go in to buy it. It’s an hour drive so I wanted to be certain it was there. Well she was too “busy” to do that. And the other SA said she was too busy as well and that I would get a call back. 3 hours later no call.
I feel super discouraged. I feel like she doesn’t think my business is good enough. Or that if I’m not making a huge bag purchase that she can’t help me with smaller items.
I’ve tried a couple different SAs in the store and they all have that same attitude like they can’t be bothered.
I hate having to call them and to bother them but I’m far away so I want to make sure the stuff is there before I do a 2 hour round trip ride.
I love Hermes but there isn’t another boutique close by and I feel like I will never be able to build a relationship with a SA and “earn” my dream bag. B25
It really is awful that it's not easy to find a SA who is gracious and welcoming! It sounds like the one you were dealing with didn't even want the smaller sales. I would not work with her again. I'm guessing this is Greenwich? And honestly I’m not even too concerned with the Birkin at this point, just the snooty behavior. I think part of the problem is that all day long, these SAs deal with rich entitled people coming in who know nothing of the brand and just demand a Birkin. Unlike some Asian H stores, the US stores don't seem to want their employees to say "well, if you spend $10k on fine jewelry, I might be able to get you a Birkin by the end of the month" so instead they have to give some fuzzy version of "no" along with no clear way on how to turn that into a "yes". I can imagine this would get very old day after day. Even here on the dedicated Hermes forum, as well as a popular H Facebook group, we get several posts a day of "so can I just walk into a store and buy a Birkin 30 tomorrow?". It's kinda of exhausting even as just a bystander.
They probably get a lot of time wasters via the phone too. You know you're an honest client, and it would be nice if they would assume so too, but some just don't give the benefit of the doubt, especially if they have another client there in front of them at that moment. I suspect once they recognize you as a true client, things will get easier.
