When did the policy change to only exchange within 30 days and not refund at all? Online purchases will be refunded if you return, but in store purchase receipt says only exchange. Makes no sense
It's been the policy for as long as I can remember.
When you buy something online, the assumption is that you have not seen the item in person, hence they allow an opportunity to return it. If you buy it from the store, you would have tried and inspected it in person, hence exchange only. Store and online return policies have always differed, I believe, If it makes you feel any better to know, the current US policy is actually more generous than it was previously! In the past return to a store for exchange or store credit was required within 10 days. I hope you find something else to love.
Went to 3 stores in France this trip. I noticed the treatment was different based on what I’m wearing. FSH treatment was all courteous and polite and professional, from all the staff. I was wearing Chanel dress, Kelly, H sandals and tens of thousands of jewelry.
Next 2 visits are to Nice and Monaco stores. I stripped all jewelry, Kate spade dress and Chanel WOC. Treatment was completely different, was talked down in Both stores for asking a question. And I had to personally go bother someone for help. I also went to Chanel and LV and received excellent service.
Finally next day back to Nice store. Dresses like FSH day but a super cheap dress lol. Service was decent, but still not as good as FSH.

Thanks for the info. Too bad that dressing up and with high end accessories makes a difference, but it often seems to make a difference in some stores.
I left all jewelry and H bags at home and was treated very well at FSH -- offered 4 bags, but none were what I wanted. I don't think it matters what you wear there.
Could not agree with you more, I never wear any jewellery and still receive good service. I would feel ridiculous if I had to wear a tiara to go shopping.

Yup. I imagine only the best employees get to work there! Wish the other stores can get to their standards.
I visited the new Palo Alto store a few weeks ago. One of the SA’s saw me walk in and came right over to help me. I’m a casual person and never dress up to shop. I actually have a photo of what I was wearing that day as I posted in the Hermes in Action thread. https://forum.purseblog.com/threads/your-hermes-in-action.917931/page-2526#post-32308197 I wasn’t dressed up at all. Just a tunic, and washed linen (unironed) pants. (I was carrying a H clutch.) I was looking for a couple of specific items: a Baton de Craie Pochette or shoulder bag in indigo and an Octogone clutch in noir or indigo. None of those were in stock. However, she brought out two Baton de Craie bags in colors that did not work for me. I told her, at that point, I felt I was wasting her time but she insisted on showing me more, including the Opli clutch and a Picotin. She was very pleasant and did her best to find a viable option for me.
Only true Hermes aficionados appreciate and ask for the bags you did.
