No still in same location

From FSH, full refund in 14 days (bag must be unused and in all original packaging.

3 month time limit for exchange for store credit with the same conditions as above.

I swapped a Kelly after 6 weeks at the FSH store in March this year.
I wish that I was at the FSH store! It sounds like a good return/exchange policy there! I got my bag at the Madison store and the USA does not have a policy like FSH.

Just popping in her to report once again the Ala Moana Hermes boutique is perhaps the rudest and most off putting store of all the Hermes Boutiques around the world I've been in.
Shameful.
The Waikiki Hermes boutique is lovely - even with SAs who don't know me- but does that matter ?? they are friendly and interested in showing you service; but the Ala Moana - the opposite :
Almost anyone who stopped Ala Moana was chased away but cold and nothing short of rude behavior by the associates.
The Mall was full of shoppers from around the world -
Chanel
Prada
Vuitton
Gucci
All welcoming and full of buyers spending dollars and great service.
Hermes Ala Moana absolutely empty and no effort to welcome buyers-
Like a game by SAs to see how fast they could scare away anyone who entered
Crazy !!

If you pop in there again, ask for Francis. I didn't buy anything there, but she was very nice and showed me quite a few items.

Wowza, that return/exchange policy is very liberal compared to the USA. Thanks for sharing the information, shosho.

Hello everyone,
I have been reading positive and negative reviews about service/treatment at the Hermes boutiques in general. A lot of them have been negative. I had a horrible experience in my home store in San Francisco myself. My question is: is it worth the stress to shop at a luxury store like Hermes when they make it impossible for you to buy a product? I mean why would someone want to be treated poorly and spend money at a store when they can be respectfully treated elsewhere? I've done my fair share of shopping at Valentino and Chanel and I have never received poor service at any locations worldwide. Shouldn't service be consistent from store to store especially when buying luxury items? I'm not getting it really!

Hi there! To me, I think it is important to provide courteous service regardless of where one works. However, with limited supply and so much demand, courteous service doesn't necessarily mean if you have the funds, they will present a bag to you. Many boutiques try to save the limited supply of bags for clients whom they have b built a relationship with. I think it helps to show your face in the boutique regularly and see if there is someone you might click with. For sure, if that fails, I personally would not spend any money where I felt I was not treated well. Shopping should be fun. Good luck on your H journey!:smile1:

I think it makes a big difference to know an SA. I was fortunate that a very lovely tpfer recommended her SA in the SF store so I wasn't just a walk in. I have walked in on occasions to meet the SA and waited around for her to be available. I have to say that no one usually comes up to me at all. I don't know if they know I am working with her or they are just too busy for me. It is still a bit intimidating and I understand your frustrations. If you would like, PM me as I am happy to give you the SA's name. Don't give up and you will find the experience significantly different when you have a connection in the store!

Would you happen to know if the exchange policy in FSH applies to purchases bought outside of France for exchanging at FSH?

The same policy applies in the United Kingdom. I was able to exchange a Clic Clac H bracelet, bought from H.com, delivered in London (all Europe shares same site) at FSH 8 weeks after I got it (wrong colour)

I've been to a few Hermes stores around the world and I've never encountered any rudeness - I'd think anyone working at Hermes would both value their job too much and feel the weight of their behaviour reflecting on Hermes' reputation on the whole to be rude... but I always have a feeling I am being appraised when I enter. So whenever I go I am conscious about dressing well. I haven't tried walking into an H wearing flip-flops and pyjama pants, so I don't know how that would work out - maybe I should try!

I think that being afraid of walking into H in pyjama pants is in itself a sign of underlying social issues that need fixing. I understand the argument that H is a high fashion establishment and deserves respect by making an effort to be presentable, but on the other hand I think it's fashion for people and not the other way round - if you feel bad, the weather is awful, or you just really don't want to dress up going shopping - you should, in a free world, be confident not to be judged for being human. Unfortunately, I've heard many stories of people being ignored in luxury stores or even asked to leave if they were not dressed in accordance with the SAs' expectations of standards.

I very much like luxury shopping - the experience, the quality..but it is all the same very sad that a lot of these brands seem like fortressed clubs that don't want or even need any new members - they are happy to serve their vip clientele and the priviledged few and may well be cold to those outside this circle. SAs, though human just like you and me, may be subconsciously channelling this mentality, unwittingly appraising, perhaps surprising themselves at time.

This, of course, is a very cynical view of the fashion world - I tend to be cynical about a lot of things. Reality may well be brighter...I'm staying open minded.

This aside, while I have not personally encountered rudness, I'll note that Hermes SAs in the Prague store are incredibly curt. Honestly I didn't hope to get much out of it because it is probably one of the tiniest H I'd ever seen, with enough room only for a gargantuan Bolide, an Evelyne or two cowering below it and a croc briefcase that was recently bought by a very handsome man in a pink suit while I was there shopping. But I noticed that no matter how many times I'd come there, buying a trinket or scarf, the SA is always curt and very cold. Relationship building failed, it seems!

:-) Good luck everyone

Good points snowbuns! I would basically agree with you and sorry you have a distant relationship at you local store.

Our local store varies from super friendly to seriously busy and frantic and now I can't always time my visits to the quiet times when I can be sure of attention.

I'd say just treat the staff as politely as you can and do what business as you can when you can and not take it too seriously. Really it's not as if we really need any of this stuff that Hermes sells so we can walk away but the staff can't and are working within a set of rules we can know.

I've watch the staff at our local store change over the years and who have stayed and who have moved on. It is the people who are willing to go out of their way and truly enjoy helping others who have stayed on.

It's 13 years since I discovered Hermes and the company has changed considerably since then, some changes I approve of and some stores I prefer to others but I so admire an international family business that absorbs changes and manages to remain relevant in so many different ways.

BTW I so love you name, you picked a good one.
