I really don't know what was wrong with the cashier, but she was extremely dismissive and unprofessional. I actually felt sorry for her.

Omg, I am like you! Whenever someone is particularly nasty, I tend to feel something is wrong with their life to make them such an unpleasant person. So in the end, I feel sorry for them. even if it isn't their job to be nice and helpful, they should treat people nice anyway.

I was at FSH and looking for a pair of shoes. No one came to offer help. I waited for a long time and decided to ask the only SA there. She is an Asian SA passing by me, so I said excuse me, like 4 times, even people around me heard me, and she pretended that she didn't hear me and just passed. I feel so turned off. I loved this brand so much and they have SAs with zero courtesy.

This was the opposite experience of mine at FSH where I found the SAs so helpful. Sorry to hear this, joanne!

In my >10 years with Hermès I have always received excellent treatment except for one time:

it was in the Luxembourg store: I had picked two SLGs that the SA was in the process of fetching the boxes for. Suddenly another person enters the store: must have been a VIP client or an acquaintance, because my SA completely abandoned me without a word and was all over this other lady. Fast forward a couple of minutes, and she was back to wrapping up my purchases like nothing had happened. I was honestly dumbfounded.

I could have left the store without completing my purchases, and she could not have cared less.

But other than that everybody usually is super nice!

Thanks for the replies. Maybe for they are more strict with exchanges when it comes to a b or k. My husband bought the wrong size and so I want a bigger size. Perhaps, I should ask if can get store credit. When he asked the SA, he only asked about an exchange.

Sorry to hear about your experience! I do find that there's always an incredibly long wait to get help whenever I'm at Madison...and some SAs tend to be not very helpful (many times I walk in and don't even get a "hello may i help you")..

I came into this post because I was so annoyed with the Madison ave store. Every time I go there is such a long wait in the bag section. I wouldn't mind if someone at least acknowledged me and said "I'll be right with you" but I'd rather shop at Wall Street or Manhasset where I always get fantastic service.

I was at the location in Southpark mall. I just stopped in after shopping at the Louis Vuitton across the way. I asked a few questions about the garden party (probably should've researched first but the store was empty). The store manager asked me what style of bags I normally like. I told him LV and Chanel. He told me to contact him when I grew up and gave me his card! I knew he was joking but geez it was so...rude. That was a year ago and I've never been back. The SA I had been speaking to before was lovely though!

Just to add: I do have a sense of humor but as a sales rep I know the importance of knowing your audience. Maybe he sensed I had tough skin. I hope he isn't like that with everyone. The store does an obscene amount of business so I'm sure he's not concerned about my little garden party purchases lol!

The manager should've known better. Having a sense of humor is one thing, but unless he's had a few interactions with you or if you made humorous comments first. I find it a bit rude. I had a similar experience at the London New Bond St store. I asked about the convoyeur bag on display. I wanted to known if it was in barénia leather. The SA took it out and said it was and big enough so I could wack people that were in my way. I took it as a joke of course, but why would he think I would display that kind of behavior, better yet treat a bag that way...lol

Wow it's quite surprising to find such behaviour in H stores! You should've asked the SA "is this the way Hermes suggests their clients to treat their bags?!"
