I used to do most of my H shopping online at the US site. But recently, there were so many silks which I liked from the FW collection that I went to my local H in Singapore to check them out IRL. My first visit, an SA called Brenda attended to me and was business-like verging on unfriendly. Despite that, I went back twice to buy scarves which had caught my eye and had pleasant experiences both times with Susan and Cindy who were knowledgeable and friendly.

My fourth time, I had called ahead to pre-order an item and went there to pick it up. I was served by Brenda and once again, she treated me like I was a nuisance. She attended to me and showed me other items I asked about, but it was obvious from her body language that she was impatient and couldn't wait to get me shoved out the door. And no, the shop was not busy. It had been busy on my 2nd and 3rd visits but i received wonderful service all the same, so customer traffic was not a factor in her behaviour. Very disappointing, but educational: I shall call ahead next time and check if Cindy or Susan are around before I drop by.

Hi, so sorry to learn about your unpleasant experience. Brenda attended to me thrice in the past few months. She was a little cold initially but soon warm up. On my subsequent visits, she always has a big smile for me. She was also one of the two SAs that see me to the door ( Not that I need it but I appreciate the gesture).Probably, she is having a bad day and has nothing personal against you.

Btw, please don't be mistaken, I do not know her personally at all and is not speaking up for her. Just sharing my experiences.

If other SAs made you comfortable than approach them as shopping is meant to be a happy and pleasant experience. :smile1:

Thanks for letting me know your experience. I would not have commented on her behaviour if it had been just once. We are all entitled to bad days. But when she treated me worse the second time we met even though I was actually buying something and I was certain she didn't recall our first meeting, I decided it was likely to be her normal behaviour and not just an off-day.

My H SA left her job, and the new SA called me couple days ago, and told me she took over my account. I had purchased over 13k in 2015 and was waiting for a Birkin. But the new SA told me the past purchasing is not counting anymore since now she's taking over my account, and I have to build up my account again, OMG, what can I do? Any suggestions? Please help, million thanks.

I feel so upset now, not sure if you gals have the same experience? Usually what happened if the SA left the job?

The customer followed her H SA to her new store or the previous SM was contacted immediately. Do not settle as this is almost extortion in a retail sense.

There are plenty of H SAs that will happily offer you a B/K without your spending another $13K annually.

The SM and the newbie SA went to the back and talked for awhile, the SM came out and said: "There is no guaranteed on how much you spend to get a B/K, but she can get another SA to help me out!"


Then she introduced me to another new SA, and I talked to the new SA, she's still on probation, and she said she can't apply for a B/K during her probation, I will be on top of her list for the B after probation if I could buy something from her today. So I made another 4k purchase from her. What do you gals think? I feel very frustrated by getting a B/K, I don't enjoy buying at H anymore, the experience made me feel so upset.

This sounds just terrible. I was reading it and got slightly angry. They are keeping you like a 'hostage.' I am so sorry this is happening to you. For me this is exploitation. They seem to just keep pushing and pushing. Are they not meeting their store quota? I am sorry if you mentioned before which country your store is located, are there other stores close-by? I would go to the other store and have a meeting with the SM.
Buying just to simply top up your record sounds just incredibly unfortunate. You should enjoy the experience. I started buying much more after by B bag. I would be upset too. And what the SA told you in the beginning sounds beyond unprofessional.

nanapig i am so sorry to hear this, i would be very upset as well. this is just ridiculous. i think at this point if there is something you want from H apart from B/K, then buy it at your own free will, but do not buy things just to meet the "quota"... with the amount you would have ended up spending at the store, for stuff you don't want or love, you could buy a B/K from a reseller with the exact specifications as you desire (color, size, HW, etc).

also as sarah_sarah mentioned, do you have another store locally that you can shop at?

This is not right in anyway. I know H like to sell the bag for customers who loves the brand and you showed them by buying stuff over 13K already. For her to say no guarantee is not right. I wish the SM would say that you are on the top list and no need to spend more just to be on top of the list. Also, I wonder why the SM paired you with a very new SA. I would expect she will pair you with an experienced SA that would be able to serve you better.
I'd rather go to a different store if possible or just get your bag that you really like from secondary market. You pay more but no games. Just do your due diligence before buying anything from resellers.

I am so angry for you! Please, please stop shopping at this store and complain to headquarters!!! Do you live in a country without Internet ordering or are you too far from another location?

Whenever you hear stories about shopping in France etc it seems like the luckiest people are the ones who love the brand, not the ones reaching an exact quota.

And furthermore; luxury shopping is also about the shopping experience, not just the output. All the money they forced you to spend that day (4K) would go a LONG way for just buying a mint condition second hand Birkin. Is the orange box really worth dealing with this horrible shop? [emoji17]

Seems like talking to the SM didn't help matters. Why on earth would the SM refer you to an SA who cannot apply for a B/K when that's the bag u want. I suggest that you shop elsewhere. Just my 2 cents.

Wow my goodness this is terrible! The advice already given is all very helpful. I am not sure that you actually have an alternative store where you are located and shipping online isn't going to get you a bag anyway correct? I am disappointed in the SM.
