azenis, you are a wonderful husband, and your wife sounds like a remarkable woman. Congrats to you both on finding such a beautiful bag. And hurray for Cuffs, for being one of the rare places that still emphasizes service. Great story! But be careful driving in such terrible weather!

I'm going to share my experience at Hermes Cleveland (Cuffs at Chagrin Falls)

Sorry to not making it shorter, but I think they deserve the full credit.

I have been trying to hunt down a B or K for the last few years for my wife for all her hard work at her study (MA and now PhD) and family (giving birth to our son, housework... etc)

But it was a mission impossible even though I always visit a H store if the city I traveled to had one. So I ended up buying many Hermes accessories (bracelets, necklaces and wrap/scarf) for my wife instead.

But persistence and patience really pay off!

I was going on a business trip to central OH and flights were getting cancelled left and right due to the snow. It was a meeting I couldn't afford to miss/reschedule, so I decided to make my 400miles journey there by driving.

As usual, I checked for H in major cities along the way because I actually needed to get a replacement necklace/pendant for my sister in-law (Cage D'Hermes) that I lost/misplaced two month ago during a family trip. Plus, an additional shot at my B/K hunt. To my surprise, there was this little privately owned Hermes shop!

I arrived to the store 10min after closing as I had to turtle my way there even leaving 1.5hr early. (complete white out) I met a great gentleman at the door sweeping the snow and asked him if they were still open by any chance.

The gentleman asked me what I wanted, I told him I was only trying to get a Hermes necklace. The nice gentleman told me to hurry and go find Nadia inside.

Once inside, I met Nadia, a very sweet girl who, even without knowledge to the particular necklace I was looking, show me many interesting pieces. However, I was only looking for that particular one since it's for a replacement after all.

Before leaving, I mentioned to her about getting a 35 Birkin for my wife as her PhD acceptance gift. Nadia told me that they didn't have any.BUT, they do have a 35 Kelly! I saw it and quickly told Nadia that I'd take it. It was the perfect bag for this occasion, a black Epsom Sellier Kelly, perhaps the most formal color/pattern I could have wished for.

Nadia took the bag and went to see another gentleman that seemed to be the owner/supervisor and told him about me getting it for wife's PhD admission gift. The gentleman was in a bit of shock (at least appeared to me) for me having made the decision that quick and even joked "you must have won the lottery!". He then took the bag upstair to have it packaged. While downstairs, Nadia took down my info in case they find the necklace I was looking. The gentleman came downstairs and told me that my wife was a very lucky lady and I was lucky to get that bag because they have just received it!

All in all, the service was amazing and the staffs have been nothing but excellent to me even though I was late to their store. I'm simply amazed by the extra effort they'd go to ensure the absolute best service for their patrons. This is an especially sharp contrast to the DC Hermes I visited few days later. I arrived half hour prior closing and got the Twilly my wife wanted to go with her new Kelly. Just when I was stepping out, (it was 3min past closing if remember correctly) a lady came to ask to pick up a single perfume for gift, the SA simply refused her entry.

Anyway, to all the gent/lady still hunting for your B/K out there, don't give up! You just need to be in the right place at the right time! And do visit Cuffs if you are near the area. Their service is AMAZING!!!

As for me, (or my wife more precisely) I'm now a proud owner of a beautiful 35 Kelly.

What a beautiful story azenis!! Congrats on getting the K35 for your wife and kudos to your great effort to show your love to your wife :-))

I must say I've been astonished to read about the bad customer service at Hermes. I've bought 90cm scarves for many, many years and was always treated well. I stopped for a while, lost interest in them, but continued to go to Madison for fragrance. I own a lot of fragrance and love the Hermes perfumer, Jean Claude Elena's, fragrances, not only his Hermes creations. Again I was always treated well.
I remember making a special trip down to the Wall Street store when they released Kelly Caleche, and it was the first boutique to carry it. I received great service. It was probably the least expensive item in the store.

Two weeks ago I went to Madison to smell Epice Marine, the newest Hermessence, and received immediate service. Didn't like the scent, but told S/A I'd like to see the GM's. The S/A showed me many and seemed in no rush, although the store was getting crowded.

I did end up buying one.

It would seem that based on other's experiences that because I'm pretty clear that I'm only buying a bottle of fragrance or perhaps a scarf, that I would have been snubbed at least once. But it has never happened. I dress casually.

The treatment in the store is usually fine. I went to my local boutique on 12/6 which was a friday. I took my Trim to have it sent to Paris for a spa treatment. After waiting for 10 mins I was greeted by my SA - it was pre-christmas after all, so no complaints.
He promised me to send it to FSH the following monday, and they will send me an email with a list of possible treatments asking for my confirmation.
That's it. I am still waiting for Paris to send me an email. I know it was christmas, a very busy time and all. But why can't they at least send me a mail saying that the bag arrived safe and sound and they need another two weeks for inspection etc?

Stansy, I'm on the same boat. I haven't heard anything but I'm not worried about it. As long as you have the receipt from H that they have ur bag in possession, nothing to worry about it. If they take too long you can drop them a line?

Honhon, thanks for your kind words. I am not worried just annoyed, why can't they communicate with their customers? I will probably contact them next week and ask for an update. Good thing I have a backup - always good to have two bags right :D:D:laugh:

Hello fellow H lovers,

I've been a long time supporter for Hermes and have many lovely things from home ware to scarves, shoes and bags from the brand that I have spent a lot of time collecting over the years.

Today was my first experience shopping at the Milano store and I was extremely disappointed! Over the years I have maintained very good relationships with SA's at the H stores that I frequent. Since I learned that I will now be in Milano twice a year I figured it would be smart to start one here, but I have since decided to never step foot in it again.

I walked in with DH (who is always very smartly dressed) after lunch and headed straight for the home wares department. I recently purchased a wooden statue of the horse head in Paris and was now looking for something to go with it. An Italian lady said hello to me and so I asked her if she could help me. She pointed the statues out to me and left me to it. No explanation, nothing. That's fine. I am happy to explore on my own and didn't notice the attitude at that point. I decided to purchase the lacquered papier mache version and since it was the only one left, I had to examine it closely. She didn't seem too happy about that but didn't say anything.

What really got me though, was that she didn't even ask me if I was interested in anything else! As soon as she took back the statue, she quickly wrapped it up and asked me to follow her to the cash. I had been admiring a beautiful ashtray at that point and now didn't have the time or motivation to buy it as she was seemingly in a rush to get rid of me.

As she was speed walking me downstairs to the cashier, I quickly asked if there were any 'special bags'. She said that B and K was only available for order twice a year and that I had to come in person to order and pick it up 10 months later. Fine. I understand that each store has their policies but she seemed quite curt about the whole thing and asking her for more details was like pulling teeth so I gave up. :nono:

Once downstairs by the cashier, she stood aside while the lovely Japanese cashier took our card. At that point, she simply left. No thank you, no goodbye. Gone. If the cashier wasn't so sweet, I would've left at that point without the purchase.

Normally I have wonderful service at H stores around the world and manage to score goodies on a regular basis so this was a first for me. It really upsets me that having recently spent over 5 figures USD at the stores that I was given such blasé attitude and I really hope that this is not a regular thing for H stores! Now I truly understand why some people are so put off by the whole experience.

I just want to ask, is this a regular experience for Milano??

p.s Mods, I'm sorry if this is the wrong place to post this but I just had to get it off my chest!

DH and I went to King of Prussia yesterday for the first time ever. We live in MD, so KOP and DC are basically equal distance for us.

I was surprised at how friendly KOP was. The store is smaller than I expected, and stock was kind of hit or miss, especially with it being a Sunday. I saw 2 lindy's on display (I thought they're suppose to be hard to find?), 2 evelynes, and a toolbox.

SA showed me a black croc constance wallet and a red croc Kelly wallet. Both were stunning, and I was surprised she offered them to me when I expressed interest in a wallet (didn't specify what kind though). Other than those 2 stunning pieces, the stock for SLG's was not impressive.

I ended up buying a herbag 31, and I mentioned I am still searching for a K28 in a bright color and/or red. She said she'd keep a lookout, and I sure hope she does!

I love my SA in Paris, but it would also be nice to have a local SA who can keep me in mind if/when she receives something nice.
