My husband was travelling from London Heathrow T3. He wanted to get a little present for me such as a bracelet and/or belt kit for the 2 of us and a tie for himself.
The answer "no, we haven't got it" was the most popular one! No belts! No ties! Bracelets yes but not the size you need. He said that they had few people in who were buying but they were buying everything "one of this and this and this as well". If you ask for a particular item the answer is no. And if you there waiting long enough they won't serve you and wait for you to go away. He got a little present for me but this experience did not convince him that he should spend his money there ever again. :)

While there are plenty of lovely SAs around the world but it seems more are not interested in making efforts. Out of all luxury brands I've shopped with H has the most inconsistent customer service; while brands like Bottega Veneta, Dior has always provided me with five star service and I'm not even a regular. I love H and it will always have a special place in my heart, but my desire to buy H has gone down to lukewarm.

Agreed. I just came across a note from five years ago from my SA thanking me for buying a Birkin. Can you imagine? These days, I have to chase down almost everything that I want. Oh well...

Was just in H Denver yesterday with my fiance and had a lovely young woman for a SA. We were, of course, there for horsie things - a specific saddle pad that they didn't have  - but we walked the whole store and she let us open all the cases and fondle all sorts of merch. I've been there before and been totally blown by how terrible the service was so it was refreshing to have such a good time shopping H!

ETA: She also gave me all the print swag... the new catalogue d'equitation, the sales booklet on the Talaris saddle, the autumn/winter catalog, and current season's scarf book. Honestly, we had the best time I've ever had in an upscale store even though we weren't buying and they didn't have the one thing I had my eye on. All around it was a pretty great experience.

Good lord, I hate the Madison Ave Hermes with a passion.

Was there today and walked around essentially for 15 minutes looking for service until I finally was able to grab a representative. Saw a young asian girl buying two 25cm Birkins, one in a cute light pink, so I figured they had them today.

I told her that I wanted a Birkin, any Birkin, just not glazed Croc. Right off the bat, I got "Sorry none in stock." I kept pressing her and telling her I'm used to the shpeel, essentially showed off my CDC/CC, etc and told her that I wasn't there just to look and I wanted the bag with a lizard/matte croc CDC.

She went into the backroom, came back, still a no.

I guess if you have your AmEx out ready to buy a 10k+ bag plus a CDC, you're still not good enough for them. I'm starting to think that they won't sell you a Birkin or Kelly unless you walk in with one already.

Anyone with a Birkin/Kelly want to come with me there this Saturday so these people stop thinking I can't afford the bag? -_-
Two 25 cms? That seems so odd as they are pretty rare and, while I have seen someone buy multiple Birkins at once, it was a very exceptional circumstance...

I had nothing but great service from the SA's and I'm not a regular and can't afford a $10K bag. There was a pop up store in the Time Warner Center (no bags, just bracelets, scarves, etc) and every time I visited, they were super helpful and friendly and even gave me scarf knotting cards even though I didn't buy a scarf (I did buy a couple at a later date so it worked out).

I go to Madison occasionally and have always been approached by friendly sales people, even on the handbag floor. Of course, I'm not looking for a B or K bag so maybe my experience is a bit different. The SA at the H in Paris was not as friendly when I went to buy a scarf from there…..

^ It's amazing how we all have different experiences at H stores. I stick with my local H store and my SA there and she is ALWAYS super helpful, but I have varying degrees of assistance from Madison. Rarely go there anymore because of the inconsistency of service. It isn't worth it to me because my local SA can find any item that I want, thank goodness.

It's been months since I've been to my local H store. Last time I was there, a SA (who I've seen being rude with other customers before this incident) made fun of my speech impediment as I had trouble asking if my SA was in... I even told her I had a stutter and she still laughed in my face... Needless to say it was an awful experience and was eventually handled, but I haven't been in since. I've never been bullied that badly in a store, of all places. I'm heading back in for the first time in a few days (I *really* want a CDC and/or other bracelets) and I'm sort of nervous, hoping I'll have a good experience.

In general, I've had better experiences in NYC and especially at the stores in Vegas.

I agree. It's amazing how much experiences vary! It's so good to find someone that you connect with that will make the whole experience pleasant, as it should be.

That's horrible, I would be sure to call the SM of the store and report the incident!
