Treatment in Hermes Stores

LVMH is being sued in California for storing clients' info for purposes other than completing transactions (e.g., shipping, credit card validation). Don't know how that suit will end up, though. May just complete with some certain monetary settlements and that's about it.

I believe LV is offering merchandise certificates to those affected, who file claims.

Hermes can choose who they want to sell the bag to. Just as restaurants have the right to refuse service to certain people.
And all your info that Hermes has is either your shopping history with Hermes, or your personal info that you provided to Hermes in the past, such ad your name, phone number, address. Hence, Hermes store director can look at your info whenever. I highly doubt that violates any law.

Good point.

I heard from My SA at Madison Ave. NYC about Hermes made the new bad policy for US store. I live NYC for 4 years and I always shopping at the Hermes store. I went to Hermes Madison Ave. with my friends who were visitor from Japan last week. My friends buy more things and asked SA who name Cindy for Kelly or Birkin bags, but she said the new Hermes Policy in US will not offer this bags to a tourism because the Hermes company want only local client. I am also their client who live in NYC and shopping in the store many time a year so I asked my SA for this bags too, but she said she can't offer me the bag now because she has to give my name to her Director to check my profile accept my personal address and everything then if it clear the Director of the store will give her the bags for offer to me. Even I buy a lot today and she has the bags, but she can't offer me just wait until her Director check client personal proflie and back to pick up the bag in other days. My friends who live in USA and I have many question1. Why Hermes company let the Director can check Client personal proflie? It not legal in USA?2.Why the Hermes company don't sell offer the bags to tourism? All my friends and I who live in USA already talked to the lawyer and they told us to Sue the Hermes and decide to report this situation to the Police that not legal about US law that Hermes company want their employee to check and scan client personal profile to offer them the birkin or Kelly bags. I hope you The Hermes company in France can fix this problem.

I was told similar thing when I asked the store in Holland if I could buy a bag. They said they don't sell bags to tourists, only locals. Silly behaviour from a high end brand. I bought a Dior bag instead, they are sending it to me from Monaco. Very professional behaviour from Dior.

I went to SCP to return the 2 H belts that were given to me as gifts. Both were too small so i had no choice but to return or exchange it. Unfortunately, they cannot do exchage...sad. Noel, the manager, was very nice and assisted me to do the process . No qualms at all. He was able to give me store credit which I can use in other H stores too. We talked for a little bit and he gave me his card. He seems accomodating but I am not sure if I want to come back.

Visited Madison twice over the last few days in search of my Massai cut (no luck). SA was Shannon and she was always polite and very helpful. Ended up buying small accessories from her. Some SAs were more interested chatting with each other than helping the customers but it was not the bad experience I had steeled myself against. We also hopped over to the men's store across the road and had great service there both times.

DH and I visited the men's store a few months ago, and they were quite cold. DH had to ask for help instead of being offered. They didn't seem interested in selling us anything, and they acted the same way with other folks who entered afterwards.

Definitely not true- Madison ave store has sold Kelly to tourist, just a week ago

Good lord, I hate the Madison Ave Hermes with a passion.

Was there today and walked around essentially for 15 minutes looking for service until I finally was able to grab a representative. Saw a young asian girl buying two 25cm Birkins, one in a cute light pink, so I figured they had them today.

I told her that I wanted a Birkin, any Birkin, just not glazed Croc. Right off the bat, I got "Sorry none in stock." I kept pressing her and telling her I'm used to the shpeel, essentially showed off my CDC/CC, etc and told her that I wasn't there just to look and I wanted the bag with a lizard/matte croc CDC.

She went into the backroom, came back, still a no.

I guess if you have your AmEx out ready to buy a 10k+ bag plus a CDC, you're still not good enough for them. I'm starting to think that they won't sell you a Birkin or Kelly unless you walk in with one already.

Anyone with a Birkin/Kelly want to come with me there this Saturday so these people stop thinking I can't afford the bag? -_-

Just returned from Hawaii and received gracious treatment in both the Ala Moana and Royal Hawaiian center stores. Both visits were "unscheduled" so DH and I were in casual attire and feeling a bit grubby after a day in the sea and sun - certainly not how I would be dressed going in to any H store back home. All of the SAs were so friendly and welcoming, even when we didn't end up making any purchases. What a pleasant experience!
