 There are a lot of these bad SA threads around. They all need to learn manners. After all...if the owners of these stores were to find out they would lose their jobs. I am a Mystery Shopper and this is the exact thing we look for. All it takes is for one of us to make a bad report on them...bam...they are FIRED.
What ever happened to treating people as equals??
I would love to be a mystery shopper in my area. There are so many jerk sales assistants that need a rude awakening in manners.

I was dressed really casually when I walked into LV to get my inclusion bracelet. None of the sales assistants bothered to help me because I'm "young", even though I also had a Chanel bag and had Dior sunglasses perched atop my head.

Here in Hawaii, the sales assistants only go out of their way to help Japanese tourists because they spend a LOT of money when they come here. Which means sometimes us "locals" get the shaft.

:cursing:

I just came back from Tiffany's at South Coast Plaza straight from work. So basically, I'm in scrubs, hair up, glasses on. Well I was interested in getting a cute ring just to wear. I was looking at a plain band ring, but it ended up being to be too thick for me. So I went around searching, found this cute little heart ring.

I'm standing at the counter waiting for an SA to help me. Right before I got there an SA asked these 2 other females if they needed help, then I came along. She walked away to the register, stood there knowing I was there. Another SA walked to her and they just started chatting. One of the SAs were even faced towards me. I was getting REALLY upset because this isn't the first time. I mean, I had my Chanel purse with me, also a Chanel shopping bag from a wallet purchase. I waited for about 5 minutes. Then I just went over to the other SA who helped me right away to assist me. So then we walked back to the other counter, and those nasty SAs were looking at me with a face, 'opps we didn't help her, now she ran to someone else. ' Gah!! It makes me so angry. Who are THEY to judge me. I'm just so sick of these rude SAs. I mean they just lost a sale from me. It just ruins my experience when I have to stand there waiting, especially when they are 4 feet away from me.

Sorry for the long post, but I just had to rant.

That is really bad, they have no right to judge anybody!

(Now I don't mean any offence at all when I say this!)
but how dare they judge you - after all THEY work in a shop!!!

What a shame about your experience at Tiffany!

Dior has lost my business for life because of the way that I was treated at their store in Houston when I was shopping in scrubs (minus my white coat). Later that day, I bought my first Mulberry at Nordstrom!

aww, i'm sorry about your bad experience at Tiffany's...it's sad that it had to be that way..you might have to wait until you find a nicer SA that you can depend on for good service, i hope you find one soon! GL..!!

Well in all honesty, when you mentioned that you were wearing Chanel items, that was basically an invitation for someone to judge you based on what you were wearing. Not in a negative way or anything, but it's almost like you expected to be respected based on certail apparel.
Not that what they did was right. Class and sophistication that Tiffany's upholds should shine through all Tiffany's SAs

omg! i had a horrible Tifs experience in San Diego.

normally, here in ottawa, u walk in, and are like the only customer they smile, help u, chat a bit

well, in SD i waited 10 mins for help. i had never seen a line b4 in tifs! finally, this biatch comes nad helps me. it was like showing me the silver was beneath her. when i asked 2 c a 2nd pair of earings in the other case, she rolled her eyes. i asked a ? about care for the silver and she said look, do u want it or not? i said i would think about it. came back the next day and bought from a nice smiley gentleman. i also noticed a lot of their displays were tarnished and looked uncared for.

Omg, I'm sorry. Some SA are just jerks, they judge you on how you look and that's totally wrong. Most of the time when I go into a "High end" places, no one ever wants to help me out. I think it's because I'm never dressed like I have money. Just plain old jeans and a t-shirt, but I always have a LV bag with me. But it shouldn't matter how you're dressed. But when I go somewhere with my mom, everyone is super nice to me. And I'm the one with the LV bags and the money. People can be jerks, next time ask to talk to a manager!

I'll bet it's because they're not very knowledgeable and assume you're carrying a fake. They probably think they're so good at spotting "money" but all they can spot is flashy customers who may or may not be spending while passing the ones who are really looking to shop!

I haven't been into Tiffany's in Brisbane many times (it's a little out of my way to get there), but the times I have been, even when I was obviously just looking, the SA's I spoke with were all really great. I must have found the good staff!

have heard lots of stories about Tiffany's SA especially at the Ala Moana boutique being very snobby and downright rude. then i experienced it myself twice on different buying occasions. i may have been buying 'just silver' pieces but they should remember customers are why they have a job in the first place.

switched to the Waikiki boutique and they were much nicer and customer oriented there. one of our friends wrote a letter to the manager about his bad shopping experience looking for an engagement ring but was ignored so it's not surprising that their attitude trickles down from the top on down. sorry you had that experience after your long day at work and wanting to spend some hard earned money to receive attitude like that.

You should be helped appropriately no matter what you are dressed like or what kind of a purse you have on your shoulder. SA's like that should know that they are nothing more but retail people in a high end store and by behaving that way they are the ones taking a low road. I am sorry about your experience but the problem was not you. Have a good day girl !

sorry that happened...honestly what you should really do is complain to the store manager....let them know what kind of service you got...although it's good to vent on here or to a friend that isn't going to change anything ...but if you tell a manager:graucho: then your going to hit it to that sales person where it hurts. They need to be made aware of the service they give to customers then a change can be done...if people stay quite those nasty sales people will always stay around

aww im so sorry to hear you got mean SA's. as im reading all the post from others you all are just soooo nice. im not as nice. i would have pulled a j.lo in maid in manhatten and told them what she did. if these SA's think they're too good for us just because they're working in a high end store. they are in serious need of a reality check because if it wasn't for us, they wouldn't be employed!

you know what the funniest part is, they may be sales people at a snobby jewelry store, but they're still just sales people. it's like when waiters are snobby. it's so ridiculous it's almost funny. i don't care how snobby and expensive the restaurant is, they're still just waiters. so i just laugh it off and i don't let this sort of thing get to me anymore.

Very good point!
