It's a catch 22 with WW - if they leave her (alone) to her own devices she abuses herself and ends up in the hospital/rehab, etc. If she is monitored, which apparently includes living in a long term care facility, her mental/physical health is better and she's lucid, chatty and mad.
Exactly. When she can’t get unfettered access to recreational drugs and booze she does a lot better.

There are medications that help the symptoms of dementia, maybe she is taking those.

She's in a home with older people who are not ok why is she here? Sounds a lot like someone with dementia lol. They said she was doing some newer treatment for dementia. I don't recall what it was called but it was something that involved using magnets on the brain.

That's awful if we pets were really sold. If she's in MC I can understand that animals are not allowed. Sad to think that a family member or friend couldn't take them in.

She very well could have been lucid during these interviews. That's the thing with dementia there's moments where they're actually in the present and then they go back to their reality.

@bag-princess I'm serious....I don't follow news about her closely but thought she had dementia? now she is giving interviews?

that is what we all thought because that is what they are telling us. and maybe she does and like someone said the meds are working. but like someone said - how is she able to get on air and give interviews when she has said how closely they watch/handle her??

if she is getting treatment that works for dementia, she is fortunate....I've never heard of anyone really improving with that disease. there are pills for memory in the early stages but they don't stop the progress

Apparently Wendy is allowed to go visit her father for her birthday. But the judge ordered her that she's no longer allowed to talk to the media. IDK how I feel about this. It's good that she's able to visit family and minimize her publicity speaking out about her situation. I however don't know if she can even comply with such a request. It's absolutely for her best interest don't get me wrong. But as someone who has had the pleasure of telling someone with dementia no you can't do something (they believe they can) it generally doesn't go well.

I figured this out back when her bank accounts were frozen. Wendy is finally admitting that her son and others were taking/spending her money without her permission. That is what ultimately led to the guardianship.

IDK if she understands how dementia works it doesn't magically go away. What a waste of the courts time. She's also been financially abused significantly by family. I can't see any judge ruling in her favor.

Wendy may appear to be doing better because she is under constant medical care and she’s receiving meds that alleviate some of the symptoms of dementia. There may also be improvement simply because she’s not allowed to drink alcohol there. But as you say, dementia doesn’t go away. It’s hard in cases where she appears to be almost back to normal. Britney appeared to be rational too when she was in court. That didn’t last long once she was no longer under the conservatorship. If Wendy gets out, no one should be surprised if she’s back to her old habits and behavior in a matter of weeks. And then there’s the matter of her son stealing from her…

She might win since she hired the doctor doing her evaluation.

“Insiders also shared that she will allegedly be re-evaluated by a doctor next Tuesday, adding the physician was handpicked by Williams’ legal team, whom she hired to end her guardianship.”

Oh my gosh! I said literally the same thing! I had a feeling that Kevin Jr’s unauthorized withdrawals started all of this.
Being a mom, it’s so hard to accept when your child has done something so harmful. She knew Kevin Jr did it, I’m sure she was trying to protect him.

ITA her improvement is due to her lack of access to alcohol and being monitored 24/7. If she is released she’ll not only relapse she’ll do it on camera for everyone to see. I feel like she’ll ignore her son’s roll in the process to get her where she is today. I don’t know if it’s willful denial or she genuinely doesn’t understand due to dementia. As far as her appearing “normal” there’s a term for that it’s called showtiming. When someone with dementia basically uses all of their energy to make it seem like they are fine/normal when around others. The thing is they can’t do it forever, they eventually get tired. The real self comes out around family/care takers. Basically they are putting on a show for people outside their circle of safety. I hope the judge is somewhat knowledgeable on dementia.

She had no problem dumping her dog a while back.
The interview with Levin was despicable. She did not sound well. She repeated ‘you know what I am saying” a thousand times. It was not her normal way of speaking. Even at the height of her crack addiction, she sounded better.
And shame on Rosanna Scotto, too.
Nobody wants to be around a bunch of older people with which she perceives as having nothing in common. However when she was in another department, she got drunk and put her safety in jeopardy.
Plus , she was first financially victimized by her husband and then her son. What would happen if she was set loose again?
Why not hire a companion to discuss her interests and write a memoir or do a podcast? Wendy is bored and feels restless.
At the end of the day, she is an addict and has some type of neurological disease. She can no longer live a regular life but she needs to realize her limits and build a fulfilling life for herself within her limitations.
Remember B Smith’ story?
Wendy is in the same situation, except that she got rid of Kelvin before he could completely drain her bank account and parade around with his baby mama.
A mess.

I agree that she’s probably bored out of her mind. She needs something to keep busy and keep her mind active to help slow the progression of dementia. She will not accept her limitations if she truly has dementia, she may have anosognosia.
