I agree that she’s probably bored out of her mind. She needs something to keep busy and keep her mind active to help slow the progression of dementia. She will not accept her limitations if she truly has dementia, she may have anosognosia.
For sure but why is the facility not offering enrichment?
And between her fans and the vultures around her, it must be super hard for her to cope.
Could she possibly live at home with a sober coach and medical support?
Such a sad and stressful situation for all involved. Her sister is a stand up woman. She refused to get involved with Wendy finances as a lawyer and a mature woman, she knew better.
I wish her the best, she is in such a difficult situation.

The facility could be offering activities/services but it doesn’t mean that she’ll use them. Especially if she doesn’t view herself the same way as other residents. Her pride/ego can also play a factor as well. My dad is 89 and should use a cane to get around. When in physical therapy and they trained him how to walk with a cane he walked significantly better and longer than without. Dose he use a cane IRL nope because that’s for old people and he doesn’t need it. Irregardless of multiple doctors and physical therapist telling him to. I think the reason why she’s in the facility vs home with hired help is for control and protection. They can ensure that she’s sober and not being taken advantage of. If she was at home she’ll have a lot more opportunities to veer off track and easier to get a hold of whatever she uses. When someone has dementia they require a lot of care in all areas of their life. It’s well beyond what one person can do as a caregiver to someone with dementia you really need a team to manage it.

It’s an expensive, probably exclusive assisted living. I’m sure there are activities offered there, but I doubt she is interested in any of them. She uses the facility’s gym, I read that somewhere. What she really wants is her freedom, which is totally understandable. Nobody wants to be in the position where they have to go into assisted care. Unfortunately, she has shown that she is no longer able to take care of herself or make rational decisions.

The problem with in-home assistance is they would be working for her. It would be too easy for her to fall back into her old ways. Or if they were firm with her, she would still be complaining. She wants to be able to do whatever she wants and she can’t anymore.

She had a wellness call at memory care and was taken away to the hospital. This seems fishy on so many levels.

She arranged for the trip to the hospital herself. She wants to be released so she hired a psychiatrist to test her to try to prove she doesn’t need to be in memory care and doesn’t need a guardian. It’s still a little sketchy because how impartial is the doctor going to be if he was hired by Wendy for this task? Anyway, she is saying she passed the test.

TMZ is involved in this up to their necks. They have put out several articles and a TV special supporting Wendy’s release from the assisted living. I hope they know what they’re doing because if they’re wrong and Wendy really does have dementia they could end up causing her more harm.

I wonder what kind of testing they did. A score of 10 out of 10 is good but obviously a very limited test. My dad would always pass the mini test his pcp gave him which is probably the test she got. Unless her test was a neuropsycological exam I don't think that's enough to clear her. She obviously wasn't put under a conservatorship for nothing. She was very clearly being finically abused by her family. And she hasn't been very lucid for a while. She is probably doing better due to lack of access to whatever drugs/ alcohol she was on in addition to her basic health care needs being met.

Wendy Williams will be speaking to the ladies of The View Friday March 14th. I just saw the commercial announcing it. I did see her call Rosanna Scotto on Good Day New York on Tuesday and they also had Harvey Levin from TMZ and he agreed with Rosanna that Wendy needs a sober coach by her side as well as a financial person to work with her. When Rosanna asked Wendy if she would be open to having a sober coach with her, Wendy refused and stated she has not been drinking and was completely against it. However, both Harvey and Rosanna said it would help her if she agreed to a sober coach and that might speed things up from getting her released from the guardianship. We will see what Wendy says tomorrow on the view.

Interesting. That could go very well or very badly.

I didn't know what kind of dementia she has apparently frontal lobal which shows up earlier agewise than other types of dementia. She also has asphsya which IMO is evident when she's trying to talk in the most recent interviews. Like she wanted to say something and couldn't articulate it then said something along the lines of not being able to say because of her lawyer. One of the women in my caregivers support group husband has it, and he's non verbal. I can't imagine how frustrating that is on both ends. He at least has family who cares about him to make sure his needs are meet and kept in order. Wendy dosen't have that.

That being said my guess is she's recieving some sort of cognitive therapy which can help slowdown the process. But she's also a fall risk prior to her being admitted to memory care she was often seen in a wheelchair and with security helping her get around on what most would consider small walks. If she can't manage that on her own prior to being admitted how can she handle it now?

On a final note her claiming that she only has $15 and someone in her family started a gofundme is a perfect example of how she's one delusional and two being financially abused. Hell they're still trying to leach off her name and she's in freaking memory care.
