I was a bit surprised to find out that the milaris is available to buy from some lv stores in the colours available as part of the HM experience. Hmmm not that exclusive then?!

I could have bought one off the shelf today. Available for 'those that don't want to wait 6 months' according to the SA.

I don't want to appear snobby, but I had been told the milaris was only available for those placing HM orders.

What store was this in, and what combinations was available? And at what price point?

I guess that might mean one can find one for sale with luck if one is willing to go for any combination of leather, colour and hardware, like a random Birkin - but one still has to do a special order to get exactly the one one wants... And surely one does not get ones name inside with a random find?

Honestly, one sometimes see Birkins that are clearly found by chance by someone willing to pay for ANY combination as long as it's a Birkin, and for me, at that price point, is definetly not worth it, it would have to be a perfect, carefully put together choice. In other words - worth the wait to do a special order and get ones HG!

Harrods.

They were single colours, and same colour lining. Same price as SO's. I get the impression not all stores will have them for sale.

No name in them either, obviously! I saw one on display, and only realised they 'had them out the back' for sale when I saw a lady being shown one, and heard the SA say they were available for sale.

I've been invited recently and still pondering...will have to go in tomorrow and see the choices before committing to one. Although, it seems like it lacks the exclusivity if "stock styles" are on the shelves.

LV has certainly done right in its haute line of consumer personalization vs Hermes' games&chance.

Can't wait to see the reveals..:smile1:

There is no such thing as a random birkin. One can walk in FSH and get exactly what one is looking for. True Hermes lovers never buy any birkin, but the birkin. They place order and wait (which can take up to 3years) or wait until the bag pops up in the store. These people buy birkins not only cause of the craftsmanship but also for all the color and leather combinations Hermes has to offer. And often it is not only bikins they buy, but anything from rtw to jewelry to homeward to scarfs to leather products.

Those who buy 'any' birkin as you have mentioned here are often those who wants to carry a birkin to represent their status symbol. These people cannot be compared with all other birkin carriers out there.

Hermes is not playing any games but simply trying to fight against those resellers out there.

Exactly my point, Bjorn! ;-)

Wow a big congratulations to Dixie79, MOWCAM and the others that ordered and are patiently waiting... :D
I can only admire and drool on the side lines... Hehehe..

Any updates, RedDuchess? Excited to hear about your experience!

I had to cancel, was going to New York for business which was postponed, my schedule is somewhat heavy right now so I can't take time to go to NY just for HM, but I do plan on rescheduling hopefully in August, for now I just debate in my mind pink/orange/yellow or gray Lockit, LOL
