What are the good resources to buy and sell jackets these days? I thought of TRR but their pricing seems off and all over the place (for everything these days really). I’ve scanned this thread and can’t seem to find the answer. Thanks.
Hi I think eBay is still probably the most used or vestaire but if you’re buying I think eBay is easier to ask questions. If you’re selling - well... sadly don’t think there’s much of a market these days unless you’re happy to part with for a low price. I’ve been through that and decided on keeping them all!

Thank you! This is my struggle, it seems resale prices really tanked somewhat overnight awhile back. I’m trying to minimize many aspects of my life and the things I’d like to part with just don’t have the resale value they used to. I don’t know if the market is saturated or what.

I think generally retail is slower.. maybe we are all better at having less! I think you’d still find a loving home for your motos if you gave them away, and I’ve considered that but also I think I do and will continue to wear them all which stops me from buying new. I guess I’d rather have a cupboard full of vintage than new but that’s just me I just love that old quality and the little bit of history :hbeat:

Would you know what year this is?
I have absolutely no idea. And I can't get the code to work, seems it doesn't work for the jacket.

The problem with vite en vogue is that if the info is not on the site and you can't tell details from the pic, they can't tell you more if you e-mail them with questions. They once told me they have their items at a different location from where they handle the selling and buying formalities apparently. But on the other hand, they have a very good return policy.

Bummer. It's not for me.

Thank you for offering. :hugs:
It's frustrating for those who are selling, but it seems this really is the time for buyers looking for pre-owned Balenciaga and it's possible to make some great finds. I'm sure you'll find another. Pre-owned Bal just doesn't sell. I had some items up for months and months and while one sold for almost the price I was asking, I had to lower the price for another item with more than half of what I bought it for pre-owned. At the same time, what I'm looking for (pre-owned holy grails, like new) are rarer and rarer to find.

I just saw a Bal item on eBay that I've been pining for for years and would have happy fainted if I'd seen it 1-2 years ago. Extremely rare. But I just don't feel the same about Bal anymore and I don't want to end up with more unused items that are near to impossible to sell. I think I want it more for old times sake  I've found something from Hermès that will solve that "need" instead.

I think it's awful how they have destroyed the moto legacy at Bal and I think it's a huge mistake. It's like Chanel dropping their signature flaps or 2.55:s. Well, almost  And not to mention the moto jackets. I've loved moto jackets since I was a small kid. These handsome guys were my first inspiration for them:

I think Ghesquière was able to capture a female moto version perfectly. Despite being high fashion, it also fits right in, in any metal scene. But what have Bal done with it? Thrown it on the discarded heap and unleashed Demna with his manic logo markers and "looking like a poor beggar hobo is so progressive"-over sized vision. Spot of hubris there, I think.

Well said. I have 4 jackets, 3 from the second hand market, and all for what I viewed were fair prices to pay. All 4 are different styles. My original moto style is red and I love it but just don’t wear it much because it’s red. I wish I’d paid more for a more versatile color. My favorite is a black in a completely unpopular style from I believe the Wang era. No one would even know it was Balenciaga. The leather is stiff and heavy but I love the way it fits and looks on me. It’s unfortunate Bal let the original moto die. Consumers are also letting it die on the second hand market. Not sure if they don’t view them as classic or trendy or consumers are just spending less and having less.
