I just want to say how much I love Speedy's and today is the last day with my favorite of them all, the Mono Speedy 25 from 1997, before I send her of to get all leather parts replaced!:love:

The 40 in the background has already been through the Process of full leather replacement. I use her mostly for work due to her size. :flowers:

You will be so happy when you get it back. It'll look like a brand new bag. I got my 40 full vachetta replaced last year, as well, and I love it. It's from 1998 and still looks brand new. How long did they quote you?

My speedy family. It's very addictive. Already thinking of adding a damier Ebene speedy 20 , emprinte bicolour, wine ....

Amazing! the leather hasnt patina-ed much over the years. Maybe you have kept it hidden and not using them much. Looks brand new!

Below photo:
My speedy family, have only been using the touterelle speedy 25 the most so far. The rest are sitting in their boxes and taken out to take photos and tried tying a twilly over one of them to slow down darkening.
Hopefully, I can keep the leather as brand new as long as possible. The second speedy is treated vacheta so it looks darker than the rest

I got the speedy 25 tourterelle and love the color. However wished the strap was thicker...
Do u happen to have a speedy 20 fabric strap? Does it go well with the speedy 25

Hi
I use my fabric strap from The Diane bag with my 25 occasionally, it works well.
The straps on the leather speedy I find like you too narrow.
Mix and matching different straps with other bags give a a new look.
Enjoy you bag!

Love all the Speedy bags. I have recently downsized my handbag collection as realised they were just not being used. I've decided to just have a small number (two) - already have a Valextra crossbody in off-white but was wondering between the Speedy 20 in DE or the Alma BB in indigo.
My wardrobe is basically navy with off-white.
I intend to use the bag crossbody and only carry the essentials. All my children are grown up so I don't need to carry a lot and love the freedom of a crossbody.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Thank you!

Hi! Chipping in as we seem to have a similar color palette, and taste in bags.
I used to own an epi Alma bb in greige, but sold it as it was quite hard and clunky as a crossbody, and the zipper& opening was hard to get in and out of, so I ended up never using it.
That being said I still love the look of the Alma bb so I was recently tempted to get it again in Indigo, as I was looking for an everyday bag...but ultimately decided on the Speedy b25 in DE, as it seemed like such a classic, practical, and versatile bag.
My children are still small so I do appreciate the extra space in the 25, but I also dislike the guitar strap of the 20. If you like it, I think the Speedy 20 is a great choice!
Also since I wear a lot of navy and blue I feel like the Indigo would have been too much blue lol, whereas the DE print gives a little more contrast and warmth to my cool/monotone looks. On the LV website the model for the Speedy b25 DE was also wearing navy and it looked very nice!
Good luck in your decision!

Not to answer your question but your question lead me to think of a recent experience, I have quite many DE bags including Speedy b DE & Alma BB DE, I take my mono Speedys out when weather is good.

The other day it was a beautiful nice sunny day, I took one of my monogram Speedys out for shopping, and a woman approached me complimented on how beautiful my Speedy is, well, she probably doesn't know it's name as Speedy she said "LV".

I have to say while DE bags are care free and business appropriate and somewhat low key, my monogram bags are truly beautiful with natural vachetta leather turned to light to medium golden brown and a slight shine from use, contrasted with vibrant LV monogram print, they are just so stunningly beautiful!

The woman's compliment made me realized while many of people has fear of nature vachetta leather bags (includes me) and LV have been producing treated leather vachetta like leather bags, the original untreated vachetta leather bags are truly precious and has its unique non replaceable beauty.

Thank you so much for your reply and your comments.
I decided to buy both bags to see how they look and unfortunately I love them both - typical!
If I keep the Speedy 20 I would definitely sell the strap as it's not my style. I have a DE strap with works with it. It sits perfectly when crossbody (I am 5' 9") and I was surprised at how much it holds yet still feels comfortable.
I see what you mean about too much blue but worry that I would regret sending it back as it's a stunning bag which holds all I need, now that my DDs are grown up, but I understand your comment about the stiffness and opening etc.
The DE print is perfect with navy and I recently bought one of the H lipsticks in a brick red that I love wearing (the model in the H picture has red hair as I do).
My youngest is urging me to keep both - think she is keen to use them as well!
I've actually put all my other colour clothes away in boxes and just kept out my navy and off white and I find it's so much easier in the mornings as I now have a limited choice.
I wish LV didn't make such gorgeous bags! First world problems!
