Hey, somebody please tell me I'm wrong...
I just got my first speedy - at 25b DE - in the mail. I have heard some crazy stories about people needing to go through several purchases before they found one that looked properly QCd. I am not super perfectionist and I know there's quite a bit of variation - but also it's a lot of money for a handbag and I want to not be a sucker, either.
I see (online) that most DE and DA speedys have the seam (piping) pretty much at the edge of the squares, or close enough anyway. But mine has, one on side, a good quarter square extra before the piping, and the same but a bit less on the other side. (I can't take a picture right now because I'm not where the bag is - but hopefully that made sense?)
I'd love the answer to be that this is totally normal, tons of speedys are like that, etc etc...

Did your speedy come folded? I’m assuming it did. Try stuffing the bag and put it near indirect sun for and hour or so and then leave it stuffed for a day or two and see if that helps. A picture would be helpful if you can load one up.Hey, somebody please tell me I'm wrong...

This is normal. Canvas will crook at any point when you try to make it as a rounded handbag. After frequent use, the crook will be out. Don't worry about it.
When not in use, store papers, or bubble padding on the interior to keep it puffed up. I would not "fold" my speedy for storage.
Your two speedys look lovely. Enjoy them. LV canvas handbags are meant to be enjoyed, not babied.
Here it is! It did come folded but I feel like most speedys have the piping at the edge of a row of squares? Not on the middle?

Here is my B 30. As you can see most of my squares show and they don’t align perfectly. It has never bothered me. It’s 3 years old and still looks like new. I say, enjoy your new bag

It was the extra half square that made me !?!?. The alignment is bad but I don't actually care much.
Well I'm pretty sure I need all the speedys...Get a classic speedy instead, One piece of canvas, no issues with alignment
Jokes apart, speedyB is such a versatile bag!! Its beautiful. Enjoy it.
Although they are fairly smooth, I always go over them with a small piece of wax paper, running it back n forth until zipper runs perfectly. I learned this from another TPF reader.
Sometimes the rare few come in. My store had two speedy b30 MIF a while ago. It does seem as though stores are not getting as many speedy b’s in store but it could be people are just snatching them up as soon as they come in.
