Never thought of that! Btw, is it okay to spray the vanchetta with apple garde spray?
I am a personal fan of Apple Guard, and have used it many times with excellent results. I’m reluctant to say it’s “OK” to use it as treating vachetta leather is a hotly debated topic on tPF with many folks on the pro and con side of the issue, and my opinion is just one of many. I would search the topic and read related threads and/or look at some videos on YouTube. We get rain often where I live, and treating makes me more comfortable using bags with vachetta. I think everyone needs to do what makes them feel the same way, whether treating or not. [emoji4]
I had an old 12x12 square silk Coach scarf and had my mom cut it diagonally and sew off the edge so it doesn’t run and used each side as a twills on my speedy 25!
So I tried the Apple Garde. It did not darken the leAther even for a second. I sprayed it twice and nothing happened

Apple Garde doesn’t darken vachetta, and it should look untreated after it has dried. As per directions, two sprayings are sufficient.

What I read is that it darkens the vachetta after it's sprayed. But mine did not darken immediately after spraying.
Whenever I’ve used it, it darkens very temporarily, then turns quickly turns back to back to original color. When completely finished, it has a very slight sheen.
Disclosure: I don't own a Speedy.
