Hello i just want to ask if this is normal to have in our speedys? I had my speedy for about a year and a half only and had not been exposed to any liquid nor humidity.
I went to our local LV store and my SA told me she will try to have it repaired or exchanged (if it's possible since it still looks like new except for the 'rust' on the hardwares). Since we're taking a long time on the counter, a senior SA came and asked what the problem was and upon looking at my speedy's hardware, she told that there is no need to try to request for a new one as it was normal and it was made to look that way (made to look vintage).
My SA took my bag and went up the store and when she came back, she told they had polished the hardwares of my speedy. True enough, the rusts were gone but the gold color faded a bit. She just told me to polish the hardware so that the rust won't come back. But after a few days, I received a message from LV:
Louis Vuitton informs you that your item has been transferred to your
store and is now available.
Kind regards,
Louis Vuitton After-Sales Service

I went to the store that day but my SA was not there and when I showed the message to the other SAs, they don't have any idea about it. I messaged my SA but she didn't reply (maybe because she was off duty?).

Sorry for the long post but I am just curious about your speedy's hardware. Is it really suppose to look rusty??:confused1:

Hi, I don’t think it’s “supposed to be “rusty” .It just happens eventually. Than It’s just up to your SA or repair manager to decide whether to repair or exchange it. From the message you received it seems as if your SA requested for an exchange and it has been approved .... Good luck and keep us posted![emoji4][emoji847]

Same here... my speedy hardware got rusty in less than 6 months, and I basically just use it not even every weekend!

I just ignored, it doesn’t bother me...

Anyone with the regular 30 that is happy not to have the B? I prefer the look of the regular speedy but don't want to regrett not getting the strap. I do prefer to hand hold my bags anyway.

I have the classic 30 and have NOT regretted not having the bandolier not one single moment. It is classic and to me the bandolier strap makes it look more sporty. To each her own though and I understand that a lot of people do prefer the strap, I personally don’t. IMG_1516214800.781003.jpg

I love mine. I don't care for the look of the straps on a Speedy. I think she's worth the extra trouble! If I need a hands-free bag for the day, I carry something else. (excuse the muddy dog prints on the seat)

I have both a 30 and a 25B. While I really love my B, there are times that I just enjoy carrying my 30 top handle/crook of the arm. I make sure to rotate my bags and whenever I use the 30, it always brings a smile to my face. I've thought about selling it often, but don't have the guts to as it was a bday present from my hubby.

Is it possible that LV changed the canvas? I could be wrong but I think that the canvas on the speedys is thinner or more slouchier compared to my 1- year old speedy‘s .. I need to test it when I‘m there with a speedy but it felt a little bit different .. the speedy b30 was also very slouchy compared to the speedy 30s I tried on in the past.. and I can’t remember that it was so slouchy or am I wrong? have you noticed this also? I also tried on a speedy b25 in DA and it was also more slouchierIMG_1516306272.662766.jpgIMG_1516306289.472771.jpgIMG_1516306300.453700.jpg

I think the canvas batch can be different from time to time.. I recall trying on speedy b 25 in DE a number of times in the course of a year or so (went to purchase the speedy then walked out with something else.. ). There were times when I thought the canvas felt thin and other times thicker.. Finally purchased the speedy b 25 in DE a few months ago and it feels comparable to my 5 year (I think) classic mono speedy 25. I also have the speedy b 30 in DE and I can see variations in the feel of the canvas and even the leather shine and finish/colour .. I just think over time or each mass production of the canvas and leather there may be variations that we notice.

thank you for the info:) I thought I‘m crazy haha but I like it more slouchier and thinner as the creases will go away sooner and it adjust more to the body :)
my speedy b25 DE is 1 year and 7 months old and I still see the creasing from folding the bag and I usded it a lot and stuff it also but the creasing won’t go away no mather what I do:( IMG_8207.jpg

Have you tried putting a purse organizer in it? I have 2 Speedy 30s and the organizer helped push the winkles out.

Oh wow, mine only a few months old and the creases are almost gone.. I do stuff it and use a felt purse organiser.. Yours look beautiful! It will come out soon.

Maybe try stuffing it and letting it get some sun? I found that the canvas is more receptive when it’s warm... Keep it in the dust bag so it doesn’t affect the color but receives the warmth if that makes sense

Does anyone have the same problem as mine? The sides of my 3.5 year old speedy 25's sides have turned black/faded. Yes, I'm careful and I do baby her. What would you guys do? Is this normal wear and tear or poor quality control with the DE print? Thanks for your thoughts. Yes i have the same and it started to appear on the corners within one weeks use. I use my Speedy a lot but I'm careful with it so it's not from abuse. I spoke to LV on numerous occasions as I wasn't happy about it and they said it's normal wear and tear. I've had mine for less than 2 years. This issue has turned me off DE in future although I love how it looks.
