Good question. I just got my Speedy 30 last week... and my Neverfull GM about 2 weeks before. I too put a lot of thought into the "Speedy Strap Conundrum". I opted not to get the strap based on the following: My Neverfull is a shoulder bag that can hold a lot of stuff if I need to carry everything in the universe (or not) - The Speedy can hold a lot, but I doubt when I use it I will over load it; which would then make it so heavy I would wish for a shoulder strap. I decided I would only need to carry the Speedy when I wanted a more classic look and profile. Big shopping days would dictate carrying the Neverfull.

Which canvas are you going to get?

A DE. I have a mono which I will dig out for the summer. I am leaning towards a strap...

I personally am one that loves holding handheld bags for only a short time and then I want to put them on my shoulder or crossbody. My hands are almost always needed for something else and I become very frustrated when I'm holding a bag and want/need to put it on my shoulder. Why not give yourself the option of carrying a beautiful bag and also have the flexibility the speedy b gives. It's a non-decision for me but that's why everything sells, as we are all different. You won't go wrong either way, but you may miss the strap on some occasions. Both are equally beautiful. You can always sell it if you make a mistake. We've all had our share of that. There are so many opinions I watched on You Tube. Some reviewers said they have had issues over time and some have had no issues.

Right now I am just babying mine by wearing long white vests when I am carrying it around.

Since it is new (my only other Speedy is an older vintage Mono Speedy pictured above) I cannot answer. I have always wanted the Azur, and so regardless, I will be wearing it and loving it. My older Speedy got marked up over time, which is to be expected. Again, loved it and wore it. My issues with the Mono were scuffing, rubbing, and lots of white marks on the canvas. I wiped it down this weekend with a slightly damp towel and boy did the dirt come off. It was there but was not obvious.

THX for the reply. I want to wear mine crossbody and that's what scares me about getting it.
