I am becoming quite interested in the Margaux, especially the larger sizes. I think 15 and 17 really capture that oversize, relaxed vibe.

Question for anyone who owns size 15: If I’m not a working woman who needs a work bag (ie: laptop accommodation) but does like oversized bags, is this a good option? The shape reads different than, say a slouchy BV bag.

I’ve looked at so many pics to assess sizing, and wish I could see it in person. For my purposes the 17 won’t work unless I want a weekender-type bag, which I don’t, but one stylist encourages people to size up to 17 if they like 15.

Any thoughts? I’m not averse to expensive bags, but this will be a pre-loved purchase for me.I find the price to be pretty inflated, but then, I’m also new to The Row.

Thanks!
I have the 15 and I wouldn't go any larger. I tried the 17 on in person and it just felt like the bag was wearing me. I think it's not the width or height but the depth that really makes it feel enormous. So my rec would be the 15 or even the newer size 12. It's a good compromise between 15 and 10 as it has an optional shoulder strap but still has a slouchier vibe than the 10. The 10 is super cute but feels very formal to me in that size, more structured. Hope this helps!

And as @Nibb said, the Margaux has lots of fakes these days, so be super super careful with pre-owned. It used to be under the radar, but now it's so popular, so of course the fakes emerge....

I own the 15- had initially purchased the 17 but returned. I'm tall (5'9") and love an oversized look, but the 17 is more of a weekender/gym bag size than a handbag. The 15 has the oversized look without being overwhelming, and I think is the better first Margaux as an everyday bag. I'm now looking to add a 17 for travel etc as well :D

Thanks. Exactly it: oversized but not overwhelming.

Does anyone know how these bags fare in the rain? I have just purchased a Margaux 12 in black grained leather and it’s the most gorgeous bag, the leather is so soft and plush, but I don’t want it to blister or get damaged if I take it out and it rains :(

I have returned to answer my own question, as I was caught in the rain yesterday - the grained leather has no problem getting wet, it just air dries out and looks as good as before.

Just picked this beauty up yesterday from the NYC Row store - The Row medium Park N/S tote in the new Spring color Cinnamon in grained leather. It's pretty close the Caramel color they had a couple of years ago. The actual color is a bit lighter than the picture due to the dim and warm tone lights in the store. This bag color is not on the website, but it's in the store in NYC. They didn't have it on display, but if you ask for it, they will take it out. The leather is super lux and the lining is the luscious suede. No hard wear or zipper or slip pocket inside. It's just a simple tote with tie at the top. I wore a wool winter coat on purpose to try it on to see if it fits over the shoulders and yes it does. I am petite mom of two who rides the NYC subway and i normally put a scarf on the top of my stuff. This is the prefect everyday lux bag that doesn't scream designer, but looks incredible. Now i need to find a good insert to protect the beautiful suede lining . If anyone has any info, please let me know. Thanks for letting me share.

Do you ladies think it’s possible to wear the Margaux 17 in black suede in the spring/summer or is it too much of a winter bag? And has anyone seen the grained leather version in black grained leather ? It seems I can only find the 17 in grained leather with silver

I think you can wear the suede iterations in spring/summer but style it a little bit bohemian? I feel like suede suits bohemian styles and could be worn even in spring, as long as the rest of the outfit is kept light.

I have the black grained leather with silver hardware, but in a size 12. Are you specifically asking about that leather in a 17, or were you just after some input about the leather itself? :)

Thanks! I was thinking of the black suede and wondered if this looked way too winter-y to be suitable for spring/summer. I don’t own any other suede bags but I love the look of the Margaux in suede!

I own the 15 in black grained leather and silver as well so was thinking of getting the 17 in black grain with gold hardware- however I don’t know if the row has ever made this? Has anyone seen it?

No suede in summer for me unless it's a light color. Spring maybe if you accessorize the bag appropriately.

I’m wondering if anyone has the India bag in the size 15.75? I am contemplating this gorgeous deep brown one to carry my 13 inch laptop to and from work, but it is leather lined so I am a little worried about weight. Does anybody have any experience with it?

Or would I just be better off with a Margaux 15?IMG_4585.jpeg
