Despite the issues, I’m still an avid TRR shopper. Some of their deals are unbeatable if you’re in the right place at the right time (got Valentino Rockstud boots for $85!) Thankfully the bags I’ve purchased (maybe 3-4) have all been in great shape. I try not to buy them unless they’re an absolute steal since I never really know what I’ll get.

Clothes and shoes are more of a hit or miss. I’ve had mis-sized shoes (e.g. 38.5 instead of 38, size was an inner stamp so couldn’t verify), and a few clothing items with more flaws than stated; one even said “new with tags” and “pristine”….the tags were Vestiaire Collective tags, and it was definitely worn and pilled. Wouldn’t have been so frustrated with that one if I didn’t have to have three separate chats to get all of my money back :annoyed: Before this last time, getting fully refunded for issues wasn’t ever a hassle. Out of maybe 40 orders in a year, I have had three issues.

On the other side, I’ve had items described as very good but were actually new with manufacturer tags!

My medium Loulou came today--WOW. TheRealReal could raise their prices considerably with better listing info. My bag came with the original BOX, a full set of authenticity documents, as well as shipping receipt & Nordstrom thank you card. And the bag still had plastic on the interior zipper. I'll post a pic later, but I'm hooked. These prices are INSANE.
I had my eye on the EXACT same bag listed on TRR for $2,100. The differential of $800 seemed like buying new with the peace of mind would be worth it.
Then this one popped up for 1695. I couldn't believe it. It only took me hours to decide to pull the trigger. Insane.
(I apologize for the poor etiquette mentioning pricing, but I think it is relevant for the resale market.)
Did it arrive? How is it?

Let’s not publicly alert TRR to what’s happening. Their lack of attention to detail cuts in our favor a lot of the time and when something is not as described, they are usually pretty good about returns.

I've gotten a couple of great deals on bags there recently....both needed a bit of rehab but very easy (like five minute for one bag and maybe a half hour for the other) and the prices were as if you were getting a damaged bag

Has anyone else noticed their increase in price in recent months? The pair of Chanel flats I bought from them a few months ago was in mint condition and TRR has been listing Chanel flats in much worse condition for the same price if not higher. Clothes have also gone up in price, sometimes by multiple folds. For example, I see a sweater from the same brand/style and in the same condition as one I had purchased a few months ago. It is listed for more than 3x what I had paid. Needless to say, I am not a fan of this shift and have barely been buying from them at all.

I've noticed the price increase as well, hence I'm buying far fewer items than in the past. What's worrisome is I'm also seeing many more NWT/pristine items that are notoriously faked and based on what I've read their authentication process isn't reliable. I'm much more selective in what I purchase from them now.

It seems like there is a new team in place there. I've noticed comments posted with
an item: This jacket doesn't typically run true to size".. I had not seen that before(for this designer_
so perhaps with the amount of returns their listers are taking more time to post correct
info. Their returns must be through the roof in spite of those who luck out here & there.
Condition for me has been misrepresented with many of my purchases so I have become
more selective & because so many of their handbags are questionable in the category I look for
I have been passing & finding other options

I have noticed slightly better descriptions lately for some bags I've looked at. Not *that* much better, but more notes than usual. Something is changing, perhaps for the better.

For the life of me I can’t figure out why when they call out specific flaw (ie discoloration to strap) but yet never photograph to show said flaw. If something is final sale, wouldn’t they want to go the extra mile for buyers? They operate as if their listings get charged by the photo, hence the fewer the photo the greater profit. In what retail universe do final sales coupled with unseen or undisclosed flaws make for a thriving low return biz?

Well, new CEO and overhauled management team....and the ousting of the old team wasn't done for no reason :) I'll take any improvement LOL! Although they have slashed commission again, but that's a different topic.

I’ve noticed a combo of higher prices and a lack of the 20% discount right off the bat. It used to be that most items (save for some Chanel/LV/Hermes/a few other select popular items), the 20% off code REAL was active from the moment it was listed for First Look. Now it is really rare to find an item it applies to in First Look.

They have also started using DHL with final delivery by USPS (like FedEx SmartPost), which is resulting in items taking so much longer. UPS would take about 3 days for me, the DHL delivery is never less than a full week.

I just listed some great condition Chanel pumps on TRR (my first sale) and they sold the second day with a 20% discount. I was surprised that they put it on sale so quickly.

I made a purchase on 10-20 and as of today (10-29) they still have not shipped the item.
It's never taken this long before.
Anyone else having this problem lately?
I'm having the same problem with their shipping. Placed my order on 10-16 and am called them on 10-21 to follow up on my order.
I was told that the package had been packed and was ready to be shipped, yet I haven't received any updates since...:oh:
