I’m going to Paris in a couple of months and planning to get my first LV bag while there. I REALLY want a mono bag and I REALLY want that to be the Iena. However, I live in Florida and it rains a lot. I plan on using this bag daily, for years (I have been using the same coach bag for 4 years). I have a few questions for you iena ladies, and would especially LOVE to hear from those with the monogram version
1) how high maintenance is the Vachetta? Is this even practical for daily use?
2) any issues with your straps fraying if you don’t zip the bag all the time? I saw someone on YouTube who had bad issues with this
3) corner wear?
4) any other LV suggestions. Again, I think I want the monogram pattern for my first bag.

I think it’s a great choice! I also live in Florida, use this bag daily (for over 2 years)as my work bag and do not baby it. I’ve had no issues whatsoever. (I’ve heard they quit making it in mono however.)

I’ve also heard that they no longer make the Iena in Mono. Have you thought about a Neverfull? Or maybe a Speedy? I hope you find the perfect bag! The LV shops in Paris are great!

Thanks for the reply ladies. I think I want the mm. I’m 5’9 and though I don’t carry a ton of stuff, I think I need a larger bag for my frame. I really want a shoulder bag so I don’t think the speedy is the best fit. I definitely did consider the Neverfull. Still on my list but it might be a little plain/open. I don’t know. I guess I just need to try it on. I called customer services and they said that the mono was discontinued in the US but I may be able to find it in Paris. If I do, I’ll probably get it, but if not, I need a back up.

Hello Everyone! I am new on the forum and I am very interested in buying a Iena DE MM. The thing is It is out of stock on the website, and it seems there is no avaibility in stores either. Do you know if it has been discontinued?

Hi, I am a LV newbie. I only own an Iena and a Pochette Métis. I am a hard hard core cross body gal... so I had this mad scientist idea to try to rig the Iena into a cross body of some fashion. (Big cross bodies don’t bother me) I can’t do it like others do with shoulder bags that have hoops at the base of the straps. I had a crazy thought to take it to a cobbler and have them add those (I don’t even know what to call it) those metal ringed punch holes to the top corners to accommodate a cross body strap. Thoughts?!? Id never be able to resell, but I want to get the most out of my investment. No?

I just got the Iena MM in DE last week. I love the style and the zipper. However, I am SO nervous about the corner wear issues that I am considering returning it. How common are these issues? I do not consider myself to be overly hard on my bags, but the corners are so sharp that I fear issues will be inevitable even with careful use. Thanks!

I think it's mainly the Monogram canvas which is causing issues. DE seems to be more durable:)
