Hi everyone! Would love your opinions on getting the mini pouch in intrecciatto black now in 2023. I know it's not trendy anymore and the resale value is not good, but I don't usually go by trends and I do somewhat care about the resale value. I'm not planning to purchase it for the full US price, as there're plenty of discounted options online. I'm curious if you think it still looks good, if you're enjoying using yours and overall thoughts on the bag. I started considering it as all of my bags are square, rectangular shape, except for the Saddle, and sometimes I feel like something like a mini pouch would complement certain outfits better than classic shapes. I don't want to impulse buy and would appreciate everyone's thoughts! Thanks :ty:

While the Pouch is no longer an "it" bag (thank goodness), I do think it is a style that will be wearable for years to come. I mostly believe that because it is a minimal style with no visible hardware. Aside from the social media hype a few years ago, there is not much about the style that would date it to those years. To me it's a style that could have easily been introduced any other time that slouchier, more relaxed bag styles were popular.

You are smart to buy it at a discount, or even pre-loved. BV in general does not hold its value. However, the leather is amazing, the intrecciato is gorgeous, and black will go with pretty much everything. FYI, I own two mini Pouches, in Bright Red and Linoleum, and still love them 2-3 years later.

Thanks a lot for your response! It's very helpful, great point about the lack of hardware and good to know you still love your pouches! I'm so tempted to pull the trigger right now, but forcing myself to wait a couple of weeks to make sure it's not an impulse buy.

I just got it recently in black for full price because, in Europe, it's quite hard to find the black mini one.
There are many of them in smooth or braided leather but in colors, I don't want.

Congrats with your new pouch! How do you like it? Did you get one on smooth or braided leather? I just ordered one in camel in smooth leather because it was at a huge discount. However I also wanted a black one, so I'll have to decide if to keep it in camel or return.

I got the mini braided in black.

Most in the resale market are in smooth leather or if braided, way too colorful, which I don’t like. I’m a bit late to the game, so have to pay the increased price.

At the beginning, I found a mini one in braided caramel with the reasonable price but, as I wanted this to be my evening bag, I decided to pass and buy the new one instead. Personally, I prefer the caramel or lighter colors in the mini Jodie. If I can afford another mini bag from Bottega, I think I would go for the mini Jodie in caramel or beige.

Thanks for sharing! Braided black was my top choice as well. But now I received the smooth camel and I love it so much! I'm leaning towards keeping it despite initially planning to purchase braided black. I thought that camel would be too much of a fall color, but it works surprisingly well with all my summer wardrobe and even with floral Zimmerman dresses. I also tried it on with camel Teddy coat and it's a perfect match. After trying on a bunch of outfits, I realized that braided leather would work great for summer, but wouldn't look good with my winter clothes, whereas smooth works for all seasons. I still love the intrecciatto look though! Maybe I'll get a second one eventually.

I actually just bought my first mini pouches as they were on sale at Neimans and while it's somewhat annoying to fit my big iphone in there, I do think they're really cute and great for running quick errands! I saw a girl at Trader Joe's with it last year and I had always wanted one since!

Congrats on scoring these on sale!! Which colors/ leather did you get? I didn't see any on sale online, did you get them in-store?
I agree about the annoyance of fitting the phone in, but I think I found a way it goes in and out relatively easy. I put sideways at first and kind of push the leather out to extent the pouch, then I turn it along the pouch "wall". It fits well and the pouch closes easily, also it's pretty quick after doing it a few times.

I got fountain and firework at 33% off, and blueprint at 50% off! They were not online, I follow a lot of neiman SA's on instagram and whenever they posted available inventory I would immediately message them!!

Question: how do you actually open The Pouch? Use a finger to pry open the clasp? Or is there a hidden mechanism or a little clasp somewhere like on old-fashioned coin purses?

I've looked through most of this thread and I'm intrigued. Post-Tomas Maier designs have not been on my radar at all, but suddenly the idea of The Pouch is appealing. I know it needs to be based on more than that, so I'll keep researching.

I have a mini, but I think it's the same opening system. No clasp, I use my fingers to open, so far I haven't seen any damage to the leather or wear at that spot. I've been using mine almost daily for the past 3 months.

I think it's magnetic. You just pull the two sides apart. No clasp or hidden mechanism.
