Yes its a little narrower but really not a lot. Here‘s another picture of it standing up on its own and it sits on the middle compartment. The gap is clearly there and I think its just right that way. I dont think the unevenness would bother me. My bag isn‘t perfect either. I wrote about it a couple pages back... I have slight glazing spots on the flap and the alignment on the Front is only okay . I love it nevertheless... it seems as if there are only very few Pochette Metis that are close to perfect. But most of them have „something“ going on. I decided to live with it. Who knows when and what kind of other bag you would get. Enjoy it! Its a lovely bag!!

Mine has some sticky glue spot on the side too. I think I can rub if off. And the front is only just okaish. The squares of the flap and the bag doesn't match. But your right, I think I will keep it. Especially I don’t want to wait for another year to get a new one.

Hi, I just exchange my Pochette Metis Reverse and got a new one because of canvas crack. I was very happy because I didn’t expect to get a new one immediately. But now I see , the back of the bag is shorter than the middle compartment and not aligned. Would this bother you ? I don’t remember how my old bag looks like. Could you take some photos of yours? Thanks

It's normal. I've had the old version (2014) and the middle compartment also stuck out a little further than the back pocket. The middle compartment of my new reverse PM also shorter in the back but the compartments lined up straighter than yours. It'll even out eventually when the canvas loosen up.

Thank you. Do u also notice the canvas difference from the new one? I'm wondering if they finally solve the problem with the canvas cracking,

Im curious to know what you’ve observed about the canvas differences between the old and new model, please
My old PM was from June 2018. When it was brand new, some stitches seems already having minimal cracks. then after 1year it develop cracking on the side of the flaps, from opening/closing. I think the old canvas was stiffer. More prone to cracking, especially from needle stitches. --- The new PM , I can see the stitches holes are rounded, not cracking to the side.

Hello everyone,
I have some concern for my bag, and would like your opinion.
I got my pochette metis in reverse monogram end of June. This bag is my first Louis Vuittion bag, and so hard to get hands on. So when i saw it in boutique, even i realized it was a return( from date code 4 week before my purchase date, and plastic sticker slight tip off at different edges with partial finger prints, slight mis-alignment in front ), I bought it anyway.

Now it's been 8 months, (15 times using approximately), i found it still have a strong smell on the canvas, not fish oil like smell some post mentioned in this forum often, but more alike synthetic leather smell. the second bag i pick up in store today do have slight fish oil smell, but not strong and they are totally different.

so i have to ask if anyone have a constant smell of your canvas bag? if so, can you please describe what is your bag smell like?

Ps, i just realized on the back of my zipper, the double stitch is on the end of zipper (right side) and most of previous post show on the hardware side (left side), should i be worried?IMG_20200218_233358.jpg IMG_20200125_180923.jpg

You have had you bag for 8 months now and you should really just try to enjoy it . It’s a beautiful bag and if you keep comparing your bag to everyone else’s bag - there will be slight differences - and some will have issues and others will not. Try not to take the “joy” out of owning your first LV by over analyzing and worrying. Just wear it and love it!
Also how do you store your bag?

thank you for your replay Melfontana. I was enjoy it until i cross checking my new bag plus other bags in store last night and realized none of them smell like mine.
Another factor made me feeling off because i used return another bag in store right after my first purchase i did not even bother try to sniff that return at the time, i though i just did not give my pm enough time. I was stunned to see the lady did not even look at the details of bag at all, she only open the box see if there is one inside matching my receipt and proceeded my return. All these small things sum up make me been paranoid, and i am trying to convince myself just relax, stopping thinking that much ...
In most of time i put it into original box and i will bring it out for a day or two from time to time, the smell let less intense when it out, once in box again, even just for couple hours the smell get strong again. Hopefully it won't be some bad chemical keeping coming out of it, i have to place it indoor with limit ventilation due to the harsh Canadian winter temperature.

Ahhh.... that may be why the “new” smell whatever it may be hasn’t subsided. It’s not recommended that you store any LV products in the box after you take it home from the boutique. You should just place your item in its dust bag and store in a place NOT close to a heat source. Try it and the “smell” will most likely subside. Good Luck - Hopefully - You use and love your bag!

I hope that is the reason, i will place it outside and let it breathe, fingers crossed:smile:

Hi there. Just wanna share i had my mono PM a few months back too. Bag was great, but somehow the strap smells weird from first day it was delivered. I brushed it off and thought I was overreacting.. fast forward 2 months plus, strap still smells weird like some chemical awful stuff. Then lately I saw a video on YT (fashionably amy) who complained her OTG smells awful. Then it struck me I wasn’t overthinking, it could be the glazing or glue etc. here’s what I did, I researched and found wrapping fresh newspaper print on some leather items can help remove the odors. Safe without any use of chemicals/conditioners to remove the odor. I did that, wrapped the strap tightly in fresh newspaper print, taped it up around the sides so the leather “odor” can be fully absorbed. Left it like that for 2-3 days. Resist the temptation to peek, you need it to be fully wrapped up. Verdict: it worked! The strap smells so much better now. There’s still a faint lingering canvas leather smell like our usual LV products but not the overpowering chemical/ puke smell revolting odor. So you may want to try. But please take note mine was mono print so I wasn’t scared of the newspaper color transfer (if any), I’m not certain if the reverse may have possible color transfer. Proceed with caution.

HTH
