For those in countries where Collonil is more popular and easier to get your hands on (in lieu of Apple Garde), I recommend the ‘Waterstop’ Spray to protect the vachetta on the Monogram style. I don’t mind patina, I just want the handle particularly, to oxidise evenly and to protect from dirt build up and to be easier to clean. In Australia, you can purchase from the Collonil Australia website, or you can support the stockists and buy from David Jones.

I use Collonil as well- the Carbon Spray. It‘s great- I treat all my bags, they patina evenly and are carefree for the most part  (I am from Germany and you cant really get your hands on apple garde)

Awesome to hear. I've yet to use my PM to see how it works, but I have used Collonil on my Chanels in the past and loved it. Spent ages looking for Apple Garde this morning, can only import from USA for over $70AUD for a can! Collonil seems to be the better high-end protector in Australia and dried up good on the vachetta.

This is the biggest dud of the three PMs I just picked up from my store. After returning my first due to alignment issues, a scratch, and a really dull canvas, I managed to order three more PMs (two monogram and one reverse) thanks to stalking tips from you folks. Of the three bags, both monogram PMs had a date code SD 0250 and both are being returned. They both have that really dull, washed-out canvas, but one is a total QC failure. Look at that flap and the vachetta tab! The lock is also crooked.

The other monogram is okay, but not worth keeping. It has no egregious flaws other than the monogram print that is just so dull. It looks pixelated up close, especially compared to my other monogram pieces that are more richly and densely printed.

I'm keeping the reverse. My hunt for a good monogram PM is not over, but I'm headed to Fashionphile for that one.

Hi...:whut: gosh I hate that I am even writing this
Back story: this is my unicorn and I have seen and read about so many people returning this very bag because of imperfections that -to me- were none... I just don't want to be a picky person!

UPS has just brought my PM reverse from stalking the EU website last Friday. Made in France and first look was okay. So far so good.

Okay well... and then totally excited I inspected it... I read a lot and was prepared for all possible issues and determined to not be picky. I promised myself to not use a magnifying glass !

Canvas difference to my monogram PM is huge (first pic)!!! Both made in France and from datecode they are about eight weeks apart.
So :
*I removed quite some white glue from the canvas very gently. Read about this issue, now its good.

*I can live with a few small and very small bubbles in the glazing even almost in the middle at the front flap. Hardly any glazing is picture perfect.

*I can live with a slightly unaligned pattern. Yes its not great and my monogram is better but hey :noworry:

*I can live with a not so perfect glazing on the edges. The glazing on the light reverse monogram is always more visible and you will see every unevenness instantly! So I am willing to let the unevenness go. Its at the bottom at the back of the bag. (Second pic)

But the last picture shows glazing I am not sure about ... its clearly painted where it should not... you only see it up close. On a monogram PM you would surely not even see it because of the darker color.
please tell me your honest thoughts... its from the 3rd week of 2020...
@doongee yours is from like today! Sooo.... Technically it could have been a return.
@Four Tails wow... this is bad!!! That puts my reverse in a better light... how do they let this ship to someone??

Its made in France and its my unicorn! I was prepared for imperfection and am still willing to let these things pass... :hrmm: I just need some reassurance from this beloved forum!:heart::heart:

Your reverse looks great! My bag is worse in person and I feel like yours is better in person. Don't fret the tiny imperfections. As you said, something as messed up as one of the monograms I got really puts in perspective the small issues with your reverse. Enjoy it in good health.

Omggg thank you! Will try to get to my SA this or next week. Will post if I’m successful

I can’t seem to find my original post but thanks to Zoezampalunga, I was able to return my Pochette Métis I purchased in 2015 and was offered a new bag or store credit (current value). The return was fairly easy, if you have a Pochette Métis from 2013-2015 and experiencing glazing issues/cracks, just ensure you mention that it is the older version and that you are aware that LV has come out with a newer version. This was in Toronto at the Yorkdale boutique.

Successfully returned two dud PMs and picked up a new monogram. The itch is scratched and I do not need to continue shopping for a PM.

KOP store had three PMs in stock from their morning delivery. Apparently they had five when they opened and sold two in under an hour.

The three monogram PMs in stock at KOP were all 2020 date codes but one was an absolute MESS. The pictures here are all the same bag. I could't stop taking pictures because it was like holding the handbag equivalent of a car crash. The longer you look, the worse it gets. Such a shame because it had the brightest monogram of the three.

That alignment!! Just pitiful. Seen better replicas, by far

It is beautiful!! Perfect canvas and MIF. I am in US it is impossible to get PM reverse MIF here. US canvas is incredibly dull and comes with many imperfections.

Just scandalous! Replica bags wouldn’t even dare to come looking like that!! They are making jokes of themselves right now. I am refusing to even hunt for PM reverse online because so far all that I got were terrible quality. My theory was that in the store they sell perfect quality but online defective ones. This must be a return of the online purchase.

I got a PM reverse made in France twice online about 2 months ago. And there were both in good shape, but I kept the one I liked better. Hopefully, it was the right choice :)

The crazy bit is that this was one of five bags shipped fresh to the store this morning! The CA said they get restocked almost daily, but they sell out so quickly. He tried to gently remind me that these are "handmade bags," but it was clear that he saw exactly what I did. The store even sold a bag with a bunch of dirty scuffs on the handle. Granted, they sold it to me. Hah. The rest of the bag is great, so I'm not going to bemoan that one little flaw.

By PM number five, my expectations have been dramatically adjusted.
