I got my PM reverse mono yesterday! Stalked the website for weeks and then had it posted to my local store. It is beautiful!!! Way more beautiful than in photos. The hardware is so shiny and the black leather trims look amazing next to the two tones of canvas.

In fact, it is so pretty that I had to put it straight back into it’s dustbag and store it for awhile. I’m too scared to use it.

Dear Pochette Metis owners,

Hi !

I plan to buy Pochette Metis in “emprinte” leather as the shoulder strap in ‘emprinte’ is softer than in Mono. I suffer from weak left shoulder and back. Also, which colour is more formal as well as versatile for my son’s graduation i.e. Noir or Marine Rouge?


The essentials that I carry in my bag are full size Sarah wallet, iPhone 7 plus, mini pochette (medicines), 1 lipstick, 1pen, dry facial tissues, wet wipes, 6ring key holder, DE cles (coins) and my reading glasses. Should I downsize to Pallas compact wallet (without S lock); or further downsize to Victorine wallet?


I would really appreciate your practical and logical advice .

If I was in your position, I’d get a smaller wallet for sure. Perhaps even remove the coin purse entirely. Black seems more versatile to me. If I had to choose between noir and marine, I’d take noir. But marine is very pretty too.. (can’t we have both?).

No no lol. You have to take that bag out and wear it! The longer you wait the harder it will be. It’s pretty indestructible though so have no fear. Wear and enjoy. I do know where you are coming from because I often “save” things too and I am trying not to. With my PM, I immediately started to use it and am proud of myself that I did!!!

I've had mine for over a month and it has yet to come out of the box/bag! I'm scared!

Crossbody strap of which is more comfortable on shoulder? Mono or Emprinte leather?

Empreinte strap definitely. My reverse mono strap is too soft. Bought extra bandouliere mono strap (adjustable) that’s bit more firm that comes with shoulder pad.

Yes this is exactly the reason. It’s just so pretty.. don’t want to hurt it. But good point, it is a bag and bags are for wearing. I will force myself this weekend.. The bag deserves to have a life too.

I am in the same boat! I finally was able to get the mono last week after calling into various Neiman Marcus stores that carry LV. Now I’m too nervous to use it because I don’t want to get water on the handle. I’m thinking of spraying a protectant on it. Does anyone have any experience with doing that?

Downsize all the way to the Victorine wallet or zippy coin purse.

I was confused about the two colors until I saw both in person so I could compare. I much prefer the black empreinte. It's very refined and elegant.

For some odd reason marine rouge looked a bit rough for me, I thought was going to love the red glazing, but to me it looks a bit thick and too sloppily done. So the combo just killed it for me.

Pick black. Can't go wrong.
