Maybe they can take all the red glazing of the bag and then repaint it? They are doing that with my bag at the moment, I believe it's called edge dyeing. I had all different shades of red glazing on my bag and this is how they are trying to fix it.

There was a charge of 75 euros but I didn't have to pay for it as it was needed within a year of purchase.
The bag is in warranty, they should not charge you. If yes, complain to Better Business Beaureu
The red edge dying is very normal on these blue marine, sadly their glazing will not be as smooth as Longchamp bags.
Mine is bought in Sweden, Made in France. I guess your is also MIF?
For me it is more important with a straight lock than fully centered, if you see what I mean? I am mostly concerned about function and wear and tear. The misalignment is so minor that you only see it if you really look for it
My SA always says that I should help the quality control and list common issues (things I have learned here at TPF) haha. I think it is good to know the common issues and know exactly how your bag is compared to that. And then you make a decision if it things you can live with. I think I have some flaw on almost every luxury piece that I have bought (all brands) but I knew about them before purchase and decided I could live with it (I normally see details others would miss, could be a curse sometimes haha).
Yes, totally agreed with you. Mine is MIF too. I think at this moment with this bag it is impossible to find a perfect one without any flaw. If i wish to return it and wait for another one to arrive, chances are there will be the same flaw where the square lock not centered. I have not yet use the bag. Do let me know how yours hold up on your first use

Yes, I definitely think it is almost impossible to get a replacement for it. But I wouldn't buy it if I thought it had any defect. The minor misalignment is not a defect according to me and the lock is straight (which actually can affect functionality and wear and tear). So I am very happy about mine
I have used it twice so far and I love it! And it has hold up great haha. Wouldn't expect anything else
I took my Pochette Metis and her new bandeau to lunch today. 
Today it went back. Some ladies asked me if that is a return and wanted to buy it right away, but I warned them because of the defects. We had a nice discussion regarding this bag. But I am sure this defected bag will sell again and after careful inspection will be returned again...and again...

There were some small damage to the canvas on both corners of the flap.
Damage to the canvas is a big no no! I would have returned that bag as well :/
