I know a few have said that the online you get used bags but I never had that experienced - maybe I am lucky? Mine was made fairly recent by my date tag so there is active production going on in the US. Maybe not in EU, but as long as I can get my PM it makes no difference to me where it is made. Mine came flawless and I would send it back in a heartbeat if some item was wrong - as I do really care because this is a expense to me as I save for these things.

I do know from SAs and my own experience you can get used bags in the store too. As I have had them give me a bag that was a return to view and some have said they box up used/returned bags to be re-sold at the store. I know because I have been offered them. Each bag is inspected before you buy it there but that is the only difference in purchase method because online you get it in the mail. Thus have the opportunity to inspect it once you get it in the mail and can be return if you just don't like it.

I think the US girls got lucky by having production ongoing here. I think we all should be suspect what people say about discontinued production and bags. Some talk have been right and some dead wrong historically. IMHO I cannot imagine it would stop but for awhile to ramp up more production. In the end LV is a business and it would never lose out on running with the "it bag" phenomenon. If they cease production at the climax of the demand it needs a new CEO. In the end it's a public traded fashion house conglomerate and it will sell what's in demand to maintain profits and visibility. It will stay for awhile in my belief but there may be lapses in production due to increase in demand but you will eventually see more stock.

I do not want to be a pesimist, but I was told by my SA in EU that it is definitely gone there (of production)...so I checked with my SA in US and there is a very very limited stock as well...most of them defective, they are returns ...I honestly think that the galls who got MIF PM reverse were lucky because they were the last pieces from EU. LV policy in EU is that once the bag is discontinued they rather burn them than keep selling the unsold stock (to the contrary with US policy, interesting, right?). They basically cannot sell them anymore.. So instead of burning them (ridiculous, right?) they sent the unsold reverse to US because here is so high demand and of course they want to make a profit...but there is no more production worldwide...now it is only about solding the bag completely out. I hope I am mistaken, so everyone gets this bag...

Well they are still being sold in the U.K. as the waiting lists are still active. I was not happy with my first reverse PM and am waiting on my second which I was told was coming in the next batch in a few weeks.

After 2 weeks of stress, anxiety and frustration in attempting to purchase a PM , THEY finally arrived today! :-s :hrmm:

They you ask? Well given the dilemma with the Classic Mono PM I continued to stalk the site for one to become available for purchase again. Then I began checking for a Reverse as well and one evening "Place in Cart" displayed and I was able to complete the purchase. :happydance: The very next day - the order status was Shipped, but I was apprehensive, given my previous experience. I didn't want to post a "Tale of Two Bags", :crybaby:so I decided to wait until I had both bags in my possession.

Admittedly, I'm glad I purchased the Reverse. It's an extraordinary piece and I don't think pictures do the bag justice. Undoubtedly, I prefer it over the Classic Mono. Now, I'm trying to decide if I should keep the Classic Mono or exchange it for an Empreinte.

I'll post pictures later today. By the way I believe the date code for Classic is SD1177 (Week of April 24th) and date code for Reverse is SD2117 (Week of May 22nd). Reverse is Hot off The Production Line!:graucho:

You know I think some SAs say that to customers to get them to buy another bag instead with their money on the spot instead of walking away without any sale. They get commission right? Their mantra is sell now -not later. So take what an SA says with a grain of salt ( Not all of them I am sure). They will make more PMs -just have to wait.

@Deks - your Classic Mono was made a week before my Reverse . Both my Classic and Reverse has a sag, which is needed due to the style/cut of the bag. Both of my bags still have the protective plastic on the hardware and so far I haven't seen any signs of defect or use, but I'm still inspecting.

It's not that easy for us in the US to get them either!!! I'm dying for a reverse but no luck here (California). If anyone has any tips please let me know!
I saw one at the Beverly Center a few weeks ago. I was shocked to see one in the store and they said it was marked not in stock so it couldn't be shipped or requested from other stores. I'm sure it's gone by now, but just a thought, maybe it might help to go in to stores instead of just calling. HTH

Oh, good to know, I have the info from my SA who works in Austria, Vienna. He was not able to track down one because they are of the production, I asked him twice... And I trust him completely, he found for me bags which were not possible to get and he was, so I know he does not lie.

Yeah, I agree, they do say things to keep you shopping... I spoke with one SA in US and she told me that the wait list for PM Reverse and Mono is so full that they stopped to take the names, but that does not mean they are discontinued, we just have to wait. You can still ask your SA IN THE STORE to put you on the waitlist. So honestly, I do not understand now...my SA in EU told me (and I totally trust him, he has done things for me which are amazing!) that PM Reverse is of the production (like REALLY!), once this decision is made it will follow in other parts of the world shortly, I have no clue why it won't hit the US...but I was told that the production in US continues...strange...basically everyday I get from US' SA different answer...why they do it? Keep you shopping and calling and ...and...and...be crazy about LV and their products (we are anyway, right?) :)

Thanks dear!! [emoji1][emoji1] Enjoy your new baby!

I've been told the MONO Pochette Metis is not in production anymore, now on the Australian website has gone from 'call to purchase' to 'call for availabilty' so no chance of any popping up online anymore. New styles to come!

I agree, if you check the Autumn/Winter collection 2017 there are new "mini" PMs styles...moreover it has been 4 years and 6 months since the very first PM in MONO has been released...that is an average time for a bag to last, then it is discontinued. I got lucky, I "woke up" to realize how wonderful this bag is only 9 months ago, so I got the mono and just a month ago I got the reverse. But in both cases it was a very stressful process, so I got the Triangle softy right away, just in case, so I do not need to go over this stress again (it is anyway useless, it is only a bag, not worth to ruin my health!)
