Hey all, I just received my infra rouge PM, but it has some issues that bother me personally and I wanted to see if they improve with use. Firstly, the bag is very stiff, same with the strap (super rigid and stiff), will these soften up over time and with use?

Secondly, the bag will not stand up straight, even with things in it. It will completely flop over to the front or at the least lean forward. I would want to use this as a clutch occasionally and would like it to stand up straight. If the canvas does soften up (like regular LV mono) then I am thinking maybe the bag will flatten at the bottom more and stand up straight after some good use.

Lastly, this is a very shiny version, which I am assuming is the same leather plagued by the bubbling/peeling coating. I noticed on one of the edges in the front there is the slightest bubbling on the flap's edge. That personally doesn't bother me at all, but if this is an indication that the rest of the bag will start to bubble, I am not okay with that considering the quality I usually get with LV and their high prices. Any experienced advice is welcome, thanks!

I will post a photo once I get a chance tonight of the very minor bubbled edge.

My Infrarouge was purchased in December so different batch...On mine I wouldn't say the canvas is very stiff but mine will stand upright. Some canvas does tend to soften with wear so I would say it's possible it will soften? Mine is also very shiny. I haven't had any issues so I can't really speculate whether the bubbling you mention will be an indication of problems later. Ultimately if these multiple things are concerning I would return.

I am replying to my own post since I just got home and checked the bag and upon further inspection the bubbling that I thought was on the edges is actually just the resin flowing over a bit, so that is great news! :happydance: Of course, it would be nice if the resin wasn't seeping over the edge, but we can't expect Hermes resin with LV pricing. I filled the bag up with all of my items (not just wallet and phone like I tried earlier) and by putting my iPhone in the back pocket with my keys, it does stand up straight. If the bag has anything heavy in the front (phone, keys, etc.) it does seem to still fall forward. I think I might keep her since I love the infra rouge so much and I am not sure if this will be available forever. I am assuming in December they started created a new batch without the canvas issues? I just hope this isn't one from before then since I did have to go out of state and have a Saks LV ship it to me.

I just got the infrarouge too! Mine can stand on it's own when empty... it tilts a little bit forward... but it's much better when it's full of my things. Mine is also shiny and the leather and strap are a bit stiff, which I don't mind. I don't notice anything wrong with the edges or glazing, but did notice glue residue on the outside canvas - which my SA delicately cleaned off.

This is my second attempt at the bag though, the first one I received had a crooked canvas. Now this second bag they gave me has incomplete missing letters in the tiny LV patch name stamp inside... it looks like it says "Louis Vuittc" which is bothersome... the outside of the bag is perfect though. (I posted about this a few pages earlier, hopefully yours doesn't have this defect)

I think yours sounds normal, but definitely voice your thoughts to your SA if you are unhappy. Mine has been wonderful and patient with my concerns.

UPDATE: after a very frustrating situation travelling over an hour to get to the store, there was a mix up and my lovely SA who was OFF contacted one of her staff to put one on hold for me since a few came in and when I got there, nothing was put aside for me!!! After I sat there explaining my situation to the SA, he felt bad and went to look to see if there was any he could take and there was one that was an expired reservation...which was MUCH MUCH better than the one I had. The embossing is much more even. The one they had on display that was the only one "sellable" was awful, even worse than mine so honestly.. if you are waiting for a NOIR make sure you see it in person and/or wait for the RIGHT one.

ALSO... I spoke to Client Services and it may be true... they are stopping production on the PM in MONOGRAM CANVAS and are really trying to push the Empriente instead... they actually are no longer taking phone orders. Get one while you can!

I'm happy with my NOIR Empriente... FINALLY can start using her! It is heavier than I expected but will get use to it. Love that it is so CHIC :)

I think I saw your post a bit earlier this evening. That is definitely a bummer about the interior "Louis Vuittc," but if the outside is perfect, you might just forget about that flaw all together after using the bag for a while. I personally don't pay much attention to my bags' interior. Unfortunately I don't really have a LV SA locally. I had to call my local LV's line and then was transferred to a Saks LV half way across the country, so I am not sure if I would voice my concerns to the guy in Texas who helped me or try to find an SA at my local store. What would you recommend? I haven't purchased any Louis Vuitton in a long time.

Congrats on your impriente. I saw one in the wild the other day and fell in love. Such a chic and timeless piece.

I just found the date code and researched how to read it and since mine is SD0147 it looks like it was made April of this year. Definitely a keeper! yippee! :panic::loveeyes:

I just checked LV's site and nearly had a heart attack b/c the Mono had a 'place in cart' button instead of call for availability!
But alas, when I clicked it, it said it was out of stock.
Side note/rant: I am quickly losing respect for Fashionphile with their Pochette Metis pricing. There's an 'excellent' condition mono on there for $1850 which I can deal with since a new one plus tax would be around that price. It's still pricey and inflated since the buyer would be out of luck with LV if there were issues - which is why I cannot bring myself to buy it.
But the Infrarouge they just listed is so crazy! :hrmm:A new Infrarouge is $1830 USD plus tax - FP has one listed right now for $2495! :annoyed:
I know it's supply and demand and if someone will probably buy it but it still frustrates me and I'm not even in the market for the infrarouge. Sorry to rant.

Would you mind posting a photo of your new bag? I would like to see how different the embossing is.

Crazy...the LV website is still showing "Place in Cart" but says out of stock if you try to put it in your cart. I've seen what you're describing on Fashionphile recently too. I recently saw a Champman Monogram Savane Keepall on there for a sky high price too.
