Starting a few years ago they started putting the tags "Made in USA from Imported Materials" instead on the MIU stamping. I believe it has to do with regulations that if you put MIU, all parts & manufacturing has to be MIU. Since the US factory gets the parts from France and only is constructed here, they had to put the "from imported materials". I guess they couldn't fit all that on the stamp...lol
Thank you for the info!

Received my LVovely Pochette Metis last night. My first BRAND-NEW LV purchase. The bag is beautiful and structurally perfect, including the LV mono on the inside of the flap.

It is MIU and I am not unhappy since everything lines up perfectly. And for a QA Specialist, that makes the deal.

Warm regards,

I just realized the bag I ordered online is missing the Barcode sticker/tag. Is it normal? Mine is MII. Is it going to be an issue when I resale the bag after a while? So many headaches with my online purchase :-(

Any thought? Thank you!

Yes--I have ordered dozens of items online over the years and NONE have ever come with a sticker tag. Sometimes I don't get a material tag either, other times I get a weirdly sized box for the item, or no leather cording, no gift tag.... It's really disappointing. Recently I bought a bag and it came in a broken box, just thrown into the cardboard shipping box with a tiny strip of bubble wrap :( So whenever I buy in store I'm super anal about getting every single thing!

Can't speak to whether it affects selling--but FWIW it probably wouldn't deter me from buying an item from someone if everything else seemed legit.

Hello! I am on the same boat as you! I have a Made in Italy and found that my monogram canvas is upside down as well. I think the CS rep you spoke with might have misunderstood you, same as one of my SA's did when I called her on the phone. She thought I was talking about the pattern on the "back" of the bag. I had to text her a photo and explain to her that it was "underneath" the flap that was upside down!

Lol, I came in the next day to see my other SA (the one who sold me the bag), and he and the store manager apologized for it, but didn't flat out say it was a defect. He simply said, it might be the ones from MII only, but as far as he knew, him and his coworkers said mine was one of two MII bags they have ever seen. And they haven't heard any reports from the other customer who bought an MII. He has only seen MIU/MIF and that the patter shouldn't be upside down, but that he would be happy to replace it, defect or not.

I looked at TWO replacement PMs. One was MIU in which its vachetta tab on the front flap was very FRIZZY! It literally looked like a bunch of hay squeezed into it lol. It had no sticker on the lock mechanism, so it had one FINE long scratch on it - like someone's diamond ring or key scratched it lol.

The second was MIF but it had two fingernail-like scratches on the top vachetta handle and even looked like it had a slight UNEVEN patina and also CHIPPED glazing on the sides! Lol. This one also had no protective sticker on the lock mechanism so it had horrible mini SCRATCHES and abrasions on it =(

I'm not sure what to do. I don't know which country makes better quality bags, but the quality on those PMs were unforgivable! My PM is entirely perfect (stitching, lock, glazing, and even vachetta) except for the upside down Monogram pattern. I didn't even notice until an IG friend told me about this lol. I am almost just going to keep mine, as I told her that I feel like I bonded with this particular one, but I admit it does make me feel sad to hear/read that this upside down pattern is a defect =(

I don't plan on ever selling this bag anyway bc I love it so much, but if I were to give it to my mom or daughter in the future, I don't want someone to see it and tell them its a defect or a fake lol.

My SA said to text him back when I come back from vacation. Maybe he will find a good one for me. If not, then I'm over it. Lol. I hope to hear updates from you!!!! Good luck!!!!

Thanks for the info. My PM is MII and the LV letter is upside down inside the flap. I called Client Service today and I am being told it is not defect. It is because they used the whole piece of canvas to make the flap, so the inside part is upside down. Should I return the bag? It is still within 30 days, so I can exchange to another one. But I have to wait for CS to request a new one. There is no LV store in my city. I can only send it back to the online store. It is a bit hassle for me. I don't mind to wait for the bag though. Any suggestion? Thanks a lot.

I am the same! I so far have ordered three items online, and neither came with a barcode sticker, leather cording or gift tag. And likewise, 2 out of those 3 came in broken boxes.

I have sold LV items without some of the above because I misplaced them during a move and don't believe it has dramatically affected its value. People have still purchased my items on Tradesy or eBay. HTH!

Just wondered if your unique upside down pattern could be viewed as rare and desirable? Like stamps which were created with some mistake originally and are now highly collectible and valuable? Dont know if that would apply to bags, but if it is actually perfect otherwise and you love it and it doesn't detract from the design, it might be worth considering.

I got my Metis less than a week ago. And the canvas coating is peeling [emoji29] anyone has that problem?

That sucks you should take it to LV so they can do something about it. I just got mine and hopefully I won't get that issue, mine's made in the USA and as long as it doesn't have any of the reported issues I don't mind at all if it's not MIFrance. I hope LV gets that sorted out for you. Keep us updated.
