hi everyone, I got my pm in February, the bag was made on 5th feb 2016. I have been used less than 10 times, you can see on the pic left, started pelling. OMG, how bad! I rang the CS, they ask me to send back to them next week to check what they can do for it. I feel so sad about it, I love this bag so much, just share this with your guys here, check your bag carefully now. Don't want happy to yours!

I got my new-to-me PM a little over a week ago and I love it. Haven't changed out since I got it! I just went on a business trip to San Diego and it is a great travel bag. Small, but versatile. I also ordered the vachetta strap to use with it (I ordered the non-LV one for $80 because I didn't want to spend $300+ on a strap) and it looks so cute. I used the mono strap to travel with since I was afraid the vachetta strap would get dirty. The strap is lighter since the bag's date code is Dec. 2015, but hopefully it'll patina soon to look close enough in color.

Very nice!

Oh no! Im so sorry ☹️. If you're interested when you get your new one i can share my PM hypothesis and test. I made protectors for the hardware so that it wont rub on the glazing. I wore it with the protectors for 3 weeks straight and my pm is perfectly fine. I do however feel that I should wear it longer to really test if it is helping by preventing the rubbing and peeling of the glazing.

I have an inkling your hypothesis is right. Personally, I love the look of the PM as a clutch so I'm no longer overly concerned about the glazing issue if it is indeed caused by the hardware.

So upon doing a lot of research on the forum I wasn't sure if the glazing was peeling due to bending of the flap or was it the hardware rubbing against it but something inside of me was thinking that it's definitely probably the hardware. So to test it, I decided to find a soft material to surround the hardware. I was thinking something like velvet but with velvet you can see the stitches so I decided to go with fleece since its more forgiving with seams and its good at hiding stitches. I tried to choose the best matching shade of brown fleece since there's no such thing as gold fleece lol. I pretty much wrapped it around the lobster clasp and sewed around it from top to bottom on one side. Kind of like making a clochette bell for the lobster clasp. I started sewing from the top, sew it tighter at the swivel part and a little looser as you sew along the clasp. I made sure to make the bell/protector at least 1 mm past the clasp. Since fleece is stretchy you can remove it and put the protectors on and off as you like. I just leave mines on. Also its very easy to hook and unhook the clasp if you decide not to use the strap. I know it looks UGLY but when you actually wear the pm its somewhat subtle at least imo lol. Ive been wearing my pm everyday to class and to run errands for 3 weeks straight! And my classes are pretty far from where i park so you can imagine all the rubbing and friction it takes. Fyi I always wear my pm crossbody too which i heard is also what contributes to the peeling. Although nothing has happened yet i still want to continue for another two weeks to make sure that indeed it is actually protecting the glazing from the hardware.

How to protect? Would you share and show some pics, please
