I would check the vachetta, alignment, and the glazing. The first monogram I purchased had black marks all over the vachetta handle, which was just unacceptable. The second one had misalignment of the canvas--it was shifted way left, so it was off center, and that would have driven me crazy. The third one was a charm and was perfect IMO. As for glazing, I think that may be more of a problem for the Empreinte bags. The glazing on recent bags has not been great, sometimes not completely smooth at the edges, and also some leaving stains on the bag itself. Hopefully yours is problem free and perfect for you!

I would exchange it. I found a similar problem on a recent bag, and even worse, the glazing stained the bag too. What is going on LV?! It's a crappy feeling having to return another bag, but hope the next one works out for you.
This bag was a replacement for one that had the red glazing stain on the leather! The quality control is terrible and makes me think the bag isn’t worth the $$$ I’m so annoyed....and disappointed!
The quality control is just bad. I replaced my first bag only to get another bag with alignment issues. All made in the USA (not sure if that makes a difference)

I don't have a mono metis but I do live in Oregon where it rains the majority of the year. I still carry mono bags. When the bag is new (I wouldn't hesitate to do this on a pre-loved bag either) I take a clean soft cloth and get it wet, wring it out really well and wipe down all the vachetta to get it evenly wet. I let it dry and it goes back to it's original bright vachetta with no watermarks. I've never had any issues when getting caught in the rain. I've got caught in absolute downpours and after the bag dries you can't even tell.

I wear it without a bandeau...I also have the metis in monogram and wear that one too without the bandeau. I really love both bags, but I prefer the empreinte one, because it is kind of softer and more comfortable to wear
