Don't feel bad, I like to garden and go to the local Goodwill to buy pre-owned sweatshirts and the like. People I know look at me sideways for doing it. Especially when I'm wearing a couple of Pandora bracelets! Why would I want to buy brand new stuff just to get it all muddied up (I garden like I paint, horrendous mess).

I think I must fall under the category of Penny Wise and Pound Foolish: squeeze and squeeze the last bit of toothpaste from the tube but spend 150.00 on some Pandora charms!

Yea that's me !! I bought a bottle of shampoo that was a dollar cheaper, but really wanted the other one

Yep, some jerk at work yesterday told me to stop spending my money on bracelets and to go take a vacation. I responded " hey! If my husband tells me to buy this because it makes me happy, well that's what I'm going to do!" She doesn't need to know that my underwear are falling apart, but I'd rather spend the money on a charm.
I have a feeling you ladies know the feeling ( except maybe not the undergarments part)!

I go on vacations but my main motivation is to get Pandora charms for souvenirs!

It is pretty annoying. They said it sometimes takes 3-5 weeks for items to reach them from Canada. They shipped to me with no tracking number or front-door delivery and it only took a week and a half, so it sounds like a load to me!

They are really insulting peoples intelligence with their silly excuses. Canada isnt exactly like outer mongolia where you might expect the postal system to be technically challenging for the postman??? Think maybe they want to keep your money in there bank account for longer. They deserve negative feedback. At this rate you want your money back plus interest!

Oh god, I want the dragonfly charm SO badly. I have dragonfly tattoos and my boyfriend called me his "little dragonfly". It's so expensive though. I've toyed with the idea of getting it during the promo but I'm not sure....

I should really plan out my wishlist before I go in there, or I'll end up buying the entire store!
The way they are retiring charms it would be high on my must have list. I got mine in Honduras and got a deal. It really is a gorgeous charm, I love the detail.

I've loved jewelry all my life. In high school i realized I really liked silver. When I became a nurse at 23 I turned to diamonds! That of course couldn't last very long, I had to learn the value of a hard earned dollar.
Here's a pic of my first big purchase. Yes I know it's an engagement ring, but I liked it so that's what I got! Friends gave me grief over it when I got it, and now 10 years later people are noe giving me grief about my pandora collection!

That is one beautiful ring you have its very glamorous. Bet Its nice to look at it, reminds you how hard you have worked to get to where you are today. Its a ring representing a symbolic milestone in your life. I think theres nothing wrong with working hard to have nice things. Or even if we go without or thrift in order to save so we can get a nice bead. So what if we can live with our holey pants and socks in order for us to have the bead. We think its worth the sacrifice as long we not making our hubby do the same! (ha ha) we not harming anyone.

Lol, your absolutely right.

That is a great idea! I would get some, now that I will have the butterflies soon. And then I would want the 2 tone dragonfly, that would be super cute. I love to see themed bracelets.

I wish Pandora would do like Trollbeads and let the fans design something once a year or so. That would be interesting for sure. I also wish they let you do custom beads some how. Not the whole bead cause that would obviously be very expensive. But they should offer some kind of choice on color or your name on a murano or something.
That's a great idea! I have never heard of Pandora asking their customers what their dream charms would be. They could have a contest where customers submit their wish list designs, Pandora picks the top 100 design ideas then have customers vote which ones they would wear and produce a collection of 10 Charms.

I know lots of people would like to see specific dog charms, like yorkies, or pugs, and I'd like to see murano-type charms but made with material like rutilated quartz or amber, paisley design or plaid muranos, or glass charms covered in filigree silver.

There is a sameness right now as if Pandora is steering us to collect their themes instead of creating our own. Do you think the Essence collection is going to last?

They have that bead in stock on perlen, that's where I got mine. Or wait and get a free bracelet, either way you definitely NEED this charm, it's perfect for you :graucho:

Well the thing about the essence collection is that I read on charmsaddict.com that they are making zodiac beads with pave for the essence bracelet. So that is gonna attract lots of people I think. As it is, I only like maybe 3 or 4 of the essence, but I might end up also liking these new zodiacs. I'm thinking of getting a few if they're nice.

I also think they should do more textured beads for the essence. Like round beads with raised designs all in silver, like trollbeads has a few of those and I really like them. I wanna see Pandora do some of those. Almost like the old retired crater bead from Pandora.

Oh I haven't read that yet. That sounds interesting, I might have to start a essence bracelet now!

I don't think it's vain to want something that is handcrafted and exceptional. I think many of the ladies here would agree that the detail and beauty of a Pandora charm is what makes it so special. It is also what makes it so expensive. If I wanted something less than perfect, I would buy fakes or non-Pandora charms.

Oh yes, I agree. One of the problems encountered with buying non-Pandora charms is that many of the cheap charms are not actually silver. They may be marked 925 but it's a lie and there may be only a silver coating or no silver at all.

This is a problem not only with charm beads, but all sterling jewelry that's sold cheaply on the Internet. If you look at the reviews on Overstock you find a lot of complaints from people who've taken 925-marked jewelry to a jeweler only to learn it's not silver at all. Or they've found it's attracted to magnets, which silver definitely is not. In that vein a "sterling" necklace I bought on ebay years ago has a strange affinity to the magnets closing my purse. Though it looks to be sterling to me, it's clearly not.

I think that with Pandora you can rest assured that it is what it purports to be.

A fake is quite possibly a fake metal too and won't have the lovely luster or durability of the real McCoy.

Well, it is your money, your choice as long as you are happy. It has nothing to do with any other people. You certainly don't need an lecture about how to spend your money on what from someone who has no idea about what makes you feel happy and enjoy. Just enjoy your Pandora. What does your colleague know? - Very little I bet.

I've tried mixing brands before on one bracelet, but I always end up taking them off. It just bothers me having one brand touching the other. Kind of like when my corn touches my food, I like corn separate, but I don't want it in my mashed potatoes!
I've been feeling unimpressed by pandoras muranos, especially since I like them on the smaller side, but hate making the sales people find me the tiny ones. A new brand has come out ELF beads, and their glass beads are stunning on par with trollbeads glass. I've put it on my pandora and hopefully can keep it there. Here's a pic, but you just can't see all the layering and technique that's in this bead!
it is a nice glass bead. I like the colour shades and all the details around it. Very good pick.
