I will end up on this forum. What a relief I found it. Fate smiled upon me and I was referred by a very nice person so I feel I now have a place where I can embarrass myself by asking whether something is a real or fake. I don't sell Jimmy Choo, but the same applies to other brands. i am not an expert. I never wanted to be one of those ebayers who sells counterfeits!!

One thing I could never get, even not knowing a brand, is that if a bag or item has the monogram "all over it", how that means it is the real thing??? I just say that because occasionally I've read guides, thinking I didn't have a real Marc Jacobs bag as it didn't have a monogram somewhere i would have expected, yet when I read the 'fake guide', I then saw that the monogram wasn't supposed to be there!!

I'll stick it for you!:D

Are we sure we want to "describe" what makes it fake? I hate to give counterfeiters pointers, KWIM?
That is a very good point! Hadn't considered that, but I heard a guy in a goodwill shop talking to the young guy serving who was insisting that something was a genuine Prada bag and the young guy was saying "sure it is, definitely genuine". The older guy couldn't pinpoint the indicia of a true Prada for his life, but he just pointed out 'nah it's not a genuine one, look they get go good at making them these days, better and better'. Which begs the question "how"? It is information that is the key. Some of that information might come from forums and sites like these, some from other sources

Great references. I have a website and when I was looking into the anti-counterfeiting trade agreement, I wasn't really thinking of fashion so much, but when I saw the counterfeiting of parts in aerospace design it scared me. People's lives put at stake by dodgy counterfeited parts used in planes!!!! I wrote an article on it as how many people would think of that. As disgusting as counterfeiting is when medications and aerospace parts are in question it is appalling.

I e-mailed this seller and told them this is fake. They e-mailed back that it is not. Go report them!!! Fake black Mahala.

This is a great forum. I have to get up to ten posts though and I have nothing much to contribute. Also glad to see that items are removed when I go to them, but I am wondering whether I can post the picture of the Jimmy Choo bag I picked up and put on ebay in a reply as I don't know whether I can put much else in my posts without spamming you all and boring you to death!

Please don't laugh. It has a stain on the back. I don't know whether shoe polish would fix it, but I spent a bit on it, so I guess I have a lot to learn. Never bought Jimmy Choo apart from Flash the new perfume which was given to me as a pressie. Please don't come down on me too hard.

Sorry for not using the forum properly. I can see I am in the wrong section and should be in the authenticate this forum. Apologies. Will wait five days and try to find something to comment on in another brand.
