The serpentine one looks almost like my bangle. Thank you for the explanation, I am new to this topic.

That's one of the things I learned along the way, that there are a lot of stones that look very much like jade. One home test you can try is a specific gravity test.

Now I buy bangles from slabs. I thought the process is quite fun.
How cool is that! What shape are you choosing? Princess cut? Or D cut?
bought this jade pendant while i was in asia—my first piece! i really wanted a piece of imperial jade (although i don’t know if this qualifies—the shop attendant told me it was), the color was so beautiful. i wore it out of the store!

It's a beautiful piece..

Lovely pieces everyone! I always enjoy seeing everybody’s photos of their jade jewelry. There is such a diverse range of designs in this thread and I don’t think I will get tired of looking at them. :heart:

@Purrsey this is great! Do you mind sharing which seller you buy bangles from slab from? It is something I have always wanted to do. Thank you so much.

@sunnylovesjewelry
It looks beautiful. I’m waiting for an emerald jade piece to find me:) Meaning when a right piece comes along.

@ivorydolly after playing around with shape types, I’m now sticking to oval d cut. It fits my wrist best. With round, it hits on things more.

@pureplatinum
It’s from a live sale they hold daily (few sessions a day). It’s China based. Usually broadcasted at the factory where they may also cut the slab on the spot if need be. I got to see a lot of varieties at their raw state, and how they are transformed beautifully (the seller will have sessions to show the finished bangles of other buyers). Not sure where you’re from, the sellers are Chinese speaking.

Your lavender bangle is just lovely @Purrsey! Thank you for letting me know where you get your bangles done from scratch. You’re so lucky to have access to it!

I don’t speak Chinese unfortunately so I will either have to wait for a chance to find an English speaking seller online , or hopefully when I travel to China or HK again.

Enjoy and wear your bangles in good health.

I've been on a budget and haven't bought any jade bangles in a couple of years. Back in 2019, I was eyeing this one from jadeiteroom and it was $1000. Then it went up to $1500. And today I noticed it's now priced at $5000!! https://www.etsy.com/listing/720966...ry=purple&ref=shop_items_search_4&frs=1&sts=1 - How do you justify that kind of price jump?!

I've bought once from jadeitroom back in 2018 before her prices skyrocketed. Since then, I've only bought from UJ. I haven't noticed an increase with UJ's items, thankfully.
