The black and white Pivoines was the original they drew. I was inquisitive and asked Theo which cw of the scarf was their original. They said none of the cws; they drew it in black ink on white. H decided on the colours.
I think it's a variant spelling of the Japanese characters: 野村大輔

And when he pronounces his name in this interview, the "u" we normally see is silent.
Is it a dip dye, or have they simply chosen to use very muted colors in a regular scarf?

Loving some of the CWs of the Three Graces, can't wait to see how they tie.
I love dogs but this rendition isn't doing it for me. Must have been a commercial success last time around but it could look bitty.. My 90 (blues/yellow) was one of my most worn scarves, practically wore it out. The beauty for me was its graphic/figurative balance, this variation seems a bit confused. I know they're dog collars without the dogs.
I do not think it’s a dip dye, the effect might be caused by the light.
The alternative spelling leaves out the u — it isn’t pronounced, if I correctly understood @xincinsin’s explanation at one point of learning Japanese language. I’ve seen it spelled both ways.
I’m super frustrated with the fact that both SA I spoke with today had little to no knowledge about the new scarves. Shouldn’t they know more than we do? Ug! Did find Alice Shirley Giraffes in the NYC store so that’s a plus. Only in 3 colorways but it’s there!
I’m not surprised. They spelled Pierre Charpin’s name wrong for months on the website.

What size in the Alice Shirley giraffe design? Think I read it will be coming in a 90 and 140.
The one I purchased was a 90! The white background with blue and red.
