Hm, looking at it with black in poor indoor lighting since it's after dark now - I don't love it. It's not a terrible navy-black clash, but rather my issue is that the heavy black drags down the juicy summery colors of the scarf as a whole. Maybe if you added accessories or other pieces of clothing in the scarf colors? Oh, how interesting! So this one would probably not be a good pop of color against my usual "black on black" outfits. Maybe better against a pale pink sweater. Or even against pale grey.

Yes, either of those would be beautiful. It will also work with a range of blues, with navy of course, with white, and with watermelon red (I think - I don't have anything in that color to test).Oh, how interesting! Thank you! I didn't try the pink one. But I think the pink is sold out online at the moment. (I don't live near an H store so I order online, which is how I got in this pickle.)
Bunnycat, probably not helpful but my thought is:
The pastel is the prettier of the two hands down in my opinion.
The bright is slightly more flattering perhaps.
The pastel looks lovely on you and doesn’t at all lose much in the comparison of flattering your coloring at all.
So while they’re close, to me they’re only close on how they suit you, and they both suit you, so pastel wins.

Look how gorgeous it is with gray! And I have a lot of gray.
It’s really growing on me folks, I wore it in a cowboy knot on New Year’s Eve with a dark navy jacket and dressy jeans and I thought it looked quite nice.

Those cross hatches are dark. I’m sure they can be worn with navy or black.
