I purchased the new libris shawl in black (I originally wanted grey), then I saw the Faubourg 140 online and now I am so confused about which one to keep/exchange! Helllllpppppppp
I love color, so I vote for Faubourg Rainbow. There are many colors in that shawl to match your clothes. But take into consideration whether you want plain or pattern, If you tend to wear solid colors, then the Faubourg is great. But if you wear a lot of pattern or florals, then a sold color shawl will be more useful.

Please forgive me as I know that CW1 of Mountain Zebra has been shared to death here, but wanted to show a few knots that I made highlighting the zebra after I played with it a bit.

Love these knots - the scarf looks fabulous on you! We may have seen other pics of cw 1, but I know I speak for others when I say that I never tire of mod pics - esp when they involve such fab knots!!

HEY! If your Mom says you “have to” keep it, you need go no further....Can’t wait to see it! I agree this is a very difficult season to not really indulge in...especially that pink/fuschia/ blue colorway that keeps popping up in so many patterns, and all so varied in their style and effect... like you, I want to vary the colorways, so I don’t over load on one palette....but my eye keeps wandering back to the comfort zone...I may just have to splash out this fall!

:lol:I may need to “ask” my mom!

Lol my mom is a big enabler, though!

Which one of these is not like the others?? Once I noticed that this flower on 06 was missing a stem, I couldn't unsee that blank space.

Then I looked at my collection as a whole and realized that my fondness for the hot pinks and blues were fairly well represented with my Samourai and Kachinas. Also, given that I had a hot pink ZP, it seemed extra-redundant:View attachment 4506497

After a silly amount of perseveration, I decided to return two and keep 01.

I wore it in my professional headshots for my new business; it fits the brand colors!

(Hi. That's what I look like. I've always very anti-social media and photo-phobic, but am trying to get brave about putting myself out there.)
You look gorgeous and you have a beautiful smile!!! Great to see you!!!

I love the multi-colored 140 shawls the best because of the designs. Look at your wardrobe and see if the Faubourg goes with most of your clothes. To me, the gray and black shawls are nice staples, but Hermes has such fabulous designs that sell out fast, so if you love this one, I would get it over the Ex Libris. You can get the Ex Libris another time.

@Summerof89 I second what @Ladybaga says completely. The gray and black are wonderful staples... but you really can get great quality solids anywhere. I yearn for some of the double Encadre shawls, or H Passant because I feel like they're so simple I could wear them all the time.. BUT, BIG BUT, for 1K I feel like I should be getting more than a simple color block shawl (not that it stops me from wanting it!). That rainbow faubourg is such a stunner and it won't come back around in those colors. You will *ALWAYS* be able to find yourself a black or gray scarf. If it's lingering in the back of your mind/heart I really think it's at least worth a try! You have nothing to lose by trying it, if you don't love it send it back!

I have to say that I am on the opposite side when it comes to the printed shawls. The printed shawls seem to wear more quickly. So I would pick the shawl that has the better durability. If you are looking for a workhouse shawl I would see which design holds up over time. :flowers:
