The story behind
This naturalistic scarf by Katie Scott was inspired by the pages of the Historia Naturalis Palmarum, a 19th-century treatise on palms by the German botanist, ethnographer and explorer Carl Friedrich Philipp von Martius. The astonishingly diverse forms and colors of this plant species, one of the oldest on earth, fire the imagination: is anything more creative than Mother Nature herself? Exploring the palm family in the tradition of botanical plates, the designer presents just a few specimens of the plant she describes as “the embodiment of exoticism”.

The story behind
One of Robert Dallet’s most famous drawings, Jungle Love, is reinvented here with a colorful treatment that alters our perception of it. The design is over-printed with multicolored stripes, like a filter superimposed on this tender scene. Two powerful, sleek leopards approach and observe one another, playing out their courtship ritual under the permanently astonished, round-eyed gaze of a bushbaby nestled among the leaves. Surrounded by orchids, butterflies and birds, paradise flycatchers, bee-eaters, sunbirds and lovebirds, the scene is full of emotion.

The story behind
Inspired by a 17th-century engraving depicting a bird’s eye view of Paris, Octave Marsal reinvents the French capital’s streetscape. The original design was the work of Matthäus Merian the Elder, a Swiss-German copperplate engraver and publisher noted for his numerous editions of maps. With artistic license, Marsal maps the course of the Seine, the city walls and monuments of a dreamlike Paris, creating a Cité cavalière with the silhouette of a horse at its heart. The landmarks and the coat of arms of this imaginary city are clear to see, but a few secrets remain to be discovered… Can you spot the Faubourg store, the Colossus of Rhodes, a saddle, and a reference to the iconic Brides de gala?

Went to SF boutique today and found cosmographia on the blue pink CW. Twins with several of you now. I wanted to also try the CW that @PepperS has, but alas they did not have that one.
Depending on how you fold it, you can highlight more blues, pinks, lighter or darker. It has fab hot pink hem.
First pic was taken in boutique so funky lighting...
Oh and @HermesHope you would love this one.

The story behind
Henri d’Origny’s design Mors à jouets is one of the house’s great equestrian classics. Placed in the horse’s mouth and connected to the reins, the bit allows the rider to steer his mount. They are called à jouets (“mouthing bits”) when they are dotted with small beads of metal that encourage salivation and help the animal to relax its mouth. A detail of this composition has been enlarged to become the subject of the scarf itself. Set against a background of fine stripes reminiscent of the cotton weaves used to make men’s shirts, it becomes the Mors à jouets chemise.
