I asked about the other Hermes stores and she said they cannot see their inventory so in the afternoon I went to Sevres and, while buying an alligator CDC 24, I casually mentioned my search for the GP 30 and he offered me this one in gris asphalt, vache country leather. It is a perfect neutral so I took it. I don't know how others feel, but lately I much prefer a GP 30 to my B30s. They are so cute and light but still filling and I don't obsess over damaging them in some way like I do my Bs. Not sure why they are so difficult to find though. I also asked at one of the duty free shops at CDG for one and was offered one in rouge duchese which I passed on as I have a GP 36 in that color. I didn't know that color was still in production.

That's gorgeous!

I prefer GPs to Bs for use.

Until I had one I didn't realise how smart they could look either.

I shop often at the Hermes in Barcelona and had asked for all leather GPs and they had none either! Maybe we should start a Canvas Garden Party thread!

I think the canvas and the all-leather versions have enough similarities to be in the same thread.

I remember wanting a blk/whte chevron canvas (orange interior) black leather trim version many years ago. I'm not sure why I didn't (probably too broke :biggrin:). I see one now selling for 3 x the original price :rolleyes: which is more than my special all-leather version.

Sorry the 'canvas' was a wool chevron and the leather was buffalo with orange stitching (and it wasn't black and white but Ebene and white).

I think I'm talking myself into wanting one agin :rolleyes:

Hooray I'm part of the GP club! Revealing my GP 36 in gold negonda leather. I originally was set on the vache country leather because I typically like a more structured bag, but the negonda is so soft and luxurious feeling.

I also ordered a bag organizer from divide and conquer on etsy after a lot of comparison, and it shipped out in a day and will be coming in Monday! I know there are other inserts out there that people here on purseforum swear by, but I didn't want to wait for international shipping lol.

One question I had though - how well do the handles hold up if I don't protect them with twillies? I quite like the simple look, but also want to take care of the leather

I have seen pics of the blue but not IRL, and while it looks looks nice due to other bags in my collection the brown works better for me. If anyone here has mod shots of the blue would be great to see them!

It was bought in London, the SA told me it was the last in Europe in either colour apparently, which didn’t sway my decision, what worked for me was that it has pockets which you don’t normally get in canvas and a shoulder strap (adjustable as well - woot!).

My handles are fine. I think my GP is either from 2015 or '16, regularly used (as in one of my most used bags) and Bambou (so roughly same lightness and brightness as Gold (but green obviously). I never use twillies but I have VC leather.

Just keep your hands fairly clean and clean off any hand cream or moisturiser from your palms . I suppose I fear most using all this hand sanitiser stuff, as many of them have alcohol and it can dry out leather and affect dye. If you're made to use hand sanitiser in a store etc, just put the bag on your arm til your hands are absolutely bone dry (or wipe them)
