I have a Birkin in epsom and a GP36 in VC and I love both. I have been caught in Asian rainy seasons with both and they survived beautifully. I find they both maintain their structure well but in terms of being carefree, I am just a little more cautious with the epsom because repairs in epsom are limited so I bear that in mind whereas I don't give that a second thought with VC.

Best of luck!

Edit: Papertiger's assessment is spot on.

Oryx816, so nice of you to share your experience regarding both types of leather. So helpful, thank you! :flowers: After chatting a bit with my SA, we decided that Vache Country is likely best for a bag I'll frequently use. Nice to hear your VC has been carefree! She's currently watching for a 30 for me. I'm looking forward to one arriving, hopefully soon!

I don’t own any GP previously so unsure how casual the Negonda will end up being. But since it is a GP which is a casual tote, it should be ok? Hmm

In Britain and France perhaps other places, this is the look that traditionally want their leather to look and behave like for an everyday bag. This is a shopper size and not a hand bag.

BTW, though VC is stiffer, it's also noticeably heavier in the same size, people who've tried it are shocked ha ha.

I was pleasantly surprised when I first carried it (empty nonetheless) as it felt rather weightless. My fren has a red GP which weighs a ton and she didn’t carry that many stuff. I did asked if she remember what leather her GP is in, but she couldn’t. Lol

Because of my experience with her GP, I went for a B35 for days I need more space. But a loaded B35 is indeed heavy and I wished for a lighter bag.

What should I do.... #firstworldproblems

Believe me, one of the things women think about in the 'developing world' is how to carry stuff so please don't feel that way.

If the weight of B35 puts you off carrying it but the size is right (for me too, 100%) a Neg GP could actually be the answer from heaven. Keep you B for 'best' or shorter outings and literally feel the weight fall from you shoulders.

If the GP is anything, it's the H all day carry-all. I resisted for sooooo long because I thought there wasn't much too it. Not so, I am a total believer and devotee and would happy go for another.

Great that we are on the leather and weight topic.

I am thinking of getting a GP36 to lug around my laptop... just want to carry one bag and be hands free so no separate laptop bag and no laptop sleeve.

Definitely the weight of the GP will be an issue. Which leather would be best. I want the bag to be light and fuss free. Thanks.

I don’t own any GP yet but I understand Epsom is definitely the cheapest. But it can’t be spa so be careful of scratches.

Hope that helps

I’m pretty sure in the US epsom is the same price as negonda and vache country for the GP. This surprised me, but for the other bag in the GP price range, the Evelyne, epsom is only $75 cheaper than clemence. So it’s negligible really.

Epsom is definitely the lightest weight.

Sorry I meant lightest. Didn’t realised I typed cheapest lol

Can anyone recommend a leather that is easy to clean and resistant to rain or water stain? At my work, I have to put my bag on the ground sometimes and where I live, it rains 9 months out of the year.
Thank you guys!

kinda late to the "G - PARTY" in terms of my bag collection, resisted GP for a long time as focused on the other designs first...

Here are my new additions and YES - bought 2 GPs in a row!!!

- preloved GP in bleu tempete , bought this since I love the blue and it is preloved so I can "protect" the new indigo GP and throw my labtop in this one, and wont have to worry it being slouchy!
- new GP in indigo (love the camail interior, really main reason I bought it :) is I am attracted to the colourful interior
- petite H cat (red + black) "halloween series" charm - switched the silky thread with another petit charm I have so it matched better with the interior :))))))))
