Hi everyone! I am new to Hermes bags and the purse forum, but not Hermes. Have 10 different beautiful H scarves. But now, I just changed careers and need a professional work horse bag that looks great, has some structure and can hold a couple files and leather binder.
I am tall...5'9...and medium build. I am not petite, much to my dismay . I feel like I overwhelm smaller bags. I do not do cross carry very often...ahem...because I do not like drawing attention to THAT area. So, I am wondering about the Garden Party. I do not have an established SA with my scarf purchases because I just pop into whatever Hermes I am near. So what size, leather, and color? I am in a very male dominated profession, but want something other than black...maybe. Black is usually what I wear. So I was thinking something in red or maybe a dark blue.
Any advice is appreciated! I do want my first bag to be new! And am about 2 hours away from the San Francisco Hermes. I might prefer to order online because...you know...kind of nervous about ruining my first bag purchase. Thank you!

I think you a GP would be great. The 36 would be the size. Go for Vache Country or Epsom for a bit more formality unless you like a more malleable look.
If you live anywhere near an Hermes go and try one on for size and feel. You can also ask to order a colour that works for you rather than wait for the right one to turn up on H.com.

Love it, no complaints. I use a Maitai insert in them and the shape of the bag is holding up quite well.
Hello H lovers! I searched around the H forums to try and find an appropriate place to pose this question but couldn't. Please feel free to re-direct me if necessary! But I was wondering if anyone could tell me if the Garden Party 30 is still made with a strap. That would be a dream bag for me. TIA!! Photos do not belong to me - I found them on Google Images!

H no longer makes the strap for the GP. That first photo was taken from a counterfeit reseller as I can tell by the bags behind it.
I believe only the canvas ones with pockets come with a shoulder strap now. Some of them showed up on H-site before.
