I went to George V last time. Bought a couple of other things and then asked about a bag. I was successful . This is my plan for my next trip also but I have a very small window.

I think you could go to FSH during a quiet time of day and ask about a GP.

Awesome, George V is not far from my work hotel so I will try that! Especially before my friend joins me in Paris before Vacation (I don't want her to really "see" all that I end up buying *lol*) It would be... awkward.

Totally off topic but I just realized you helped me when I was asking about Rimowa on another thread! FYI there is a new Rimowa flagship in Paris. I went there on my last trip. It's across from the Bristol. It's a lovely store with nice SAs.

Hah too funny! I still love my Rimowa cases but I need one to get repaired. The zipper came off the track on one side of the case in the inside - but other than that still love both my hard sided continental carry on and the Topas International carry on

Sorry mods for the off topic! They can probably repair it for you in Paris while you are there assuming you dont live near a boutique. I bought the black Topas carry on (the smallest one) on a trip last year (at another store in Paris, this was before the boutique opened). I used the box to ship back my orange box so it worked out great. I love the Topas. When we went back in Feb, my husband bought the same bag only in the aluminum.

@HavLab I was NOT intending to but I I did purchase a domestic cabin Topas Stealth at the Galeries Lafayette today. I figured the pricing is still so much better I could handle the splurge.

Really ?? Gold used to be everywhere ! I had a Gold in the TPM size but I must admit that the dye really stinks (but not the same odor as the issue with B and Ks a couple of years ago). It was strong enough that I had to re-home it. I still love the color and I think it would look better on country leather.

Yes I was looking for a gold 36cm and there were only 2 in the US right now. Not sure why stocks are so low. Gold is a very desirable color. I haven't had any bad experience with Hermes leather smells thankfully. I had that with LV.

I picked up a gold GP 36 in negonda leather in Paris last fall. I love it. Classic color. Highly versatile and no smell at all. I will say it doesn't hold shape as well as the vache country leather but it is still very lovely. And maybe a little lighter than the vache country?

Here you go. The light makes it look a little orange-y. But it isn't. Just a soft lovely tan.

Ha! That is too funny. Congrats! It is such a better deal there. Now you have to buy an H bag because the box (if they gave you one) is just perfect for shipping home an orange box (I used la poste).

BUT I did buy a bag. Stopped by George V on the way to work yesterday and asked to see the Dogon wallets and bought an orange/pink duo. Then, I asked for my dream bag that I assumed he would say don't have, a regular size Halzan barenia (I have wanted a barenia bag for so long and I saw the Halzan barenia bags in the Halzan thread and I found them amazing). I assumed once he said no then I would ask for a garden party. Instead he said he thought MAYBE he had one but needed to double check. Fifteen minutes later and he offered it to me. So much for my garden party plans

Well I am happy to report I did manage to get a Garden Party in a more fun color. It is not green or orange, but a color that I think will still be a pop for me. I have a rouge pivoine evelyne and although I like it-- it is not really a bold red color. It seems far more muted.

I went back to George V today because I still wanted to try for a Garden Party and I definitely wanted a new CSGM. I had asked one day on the way back to my hotel for a Garden Party but they said they had nothing. When I came today they looked up my information and said there were no Garden Party, maybe I could come back next week or something since they doubted they would get any shipments even on Tuesday due to the holiday. So I figured it was meant to be and then I asked to look at the shawls. I bought one of the Appaloosa shawls and then I asked to see bracelets but the only Kelly Double Tour bracelets were in neutrals. After I told the lady I would just go with the shawl then she discreetly said she could offer me a bag after all. She told me in french that the store does not have a huge stock and since I had just purchased the Halzan they were concerned I was only after bags, but it was apparent that I liked other items as well. She asked if I preferred small or big (I like the 36 she did not mention any other size available bigger) and she asked me to go upstairs so we could be discreet.

So now I have a beautiful rouge casaque epsom GP. My chocolate GP is negonda so I actually really like this epsom more than I would think. The extra structure makes it seems a little more formal which I love!.

Goodness me, what lovely new additions! I always do well in France too, once the SA realises you're not after just the 'usual' they miraculously find everything.

Such a beautiful shawl (I have appaloosa in a 90). But wow that Epsom GP is fabulously smart. The leather is a very good choice for a GP, I'm enjoying mine in VC but Epsom is going to be wonderfully light.
