The iridescent Gabrielle maintains its structure really well. I was sure I'd want a bag insert, but in reality - I don't need one! The non iridescent though, if I were to go that route, I'd get an insert for sure to maintain the structure .

I decided to return my medium black Gabrielle, but bought the samorga insert (size M1) beforehand. Just wanted to share my thoughts for those of you thinking of getting an insert:
1. Shipping: It took forever to get to me (ships from Korea).
2. Quality: It seems really well made. Very solid. I bought it in black and I think that's the best color because it's less noticeable when you open the bag.
3. Space / fit: I didn't take pictures with the insert inside the Gabrielle but I didn't think it took up too much space at all and I could have still fit everything I wanted to fit into the Gabrielle.
4. Verdict: My SA said that my Gabrielle (medium in black) will definitely slouch over time without an insert and I like the look of the Gabrielle a bit more upright, so I would definitely want an insert and I can't imagine one much better than this. So I say go for it!

Now what to do with this insert when I don't have a Gabrielle

I don't have any matellics either lol I just recently started to like silver bags. But I think it's fun to have some matellics in your wardrobe. Maybe not an everyday bag but it's fun to have a change sometimes. I get frustrated when I look at my black bags lol

^ I just bought the same bag, med size and I love it...I have classics, and an envelope clutch, and this bag is so easy, especially light, and a bit understated.....I love to drape the chains over the bag when its on a table.....they look so beautiful and rich with the different metals...

i'm using the chameleon bag insert just because i was already using it in my H Evelyne so i just had to put it in the Gabrielle. Fits nicely

I adore the gabrielle, it is zipper and crossbody - so really right up my alley.

I prefer size is the smallest size as I only carry small bags only and the smallest does fit all my essential. Unfortunately it looks a bit out of porpotion for me, I am 5'2 and size US8, so yeah it doesn't look as good on me.

The medium does look more porpotionate and I guess it be nice to have a bigger bag to fit some of my boys items when we go out but I am just worried I won't reach for it as much.

Now shld I just stick to the size I know works for me but looks quite bad? ( I am considering getting some stopper for the chain and just have it one long chain like a normal sling bag which I think will look better ) or just give up and believe the Gabrielle is not for me? Something that I have been excited about. Btw I wanted the all black which the SA said it might look even smaller on me ( I tried the silver which have a pop of color so it does add a dimension on to it)

I think everybody has come across that awesome bag that looks incredible on other people, but when tried-on, our response while looking in the mirror is "meh."

I believe that a person can admire and drool over a bag w/o having to own it. Especially at $4K. Don't rush, if you are unsure. Think about it- think about why you want it.
I think something else might come your way in an upcoming season.

aa12 - Yes, if you don't want the slouchy look and you have a non-metallic leather version, then I think you should go for an insert. On the other hand, if you want it to slouch over time, or if you have one of the stiffer materials (I've heard metallic is stiffer), then maybe you don't need one. As for the color, I didn't get red because the inside of my black Gabrielle was somewhere in between red and burgundy, and I was worried that the Samorga insert options in that color range (regular red, wine, etc) wouldn't be a perfect match, which would bother me.

luv4bags & aa12: I decided to return the Gabrielle for a lot of reasons. Like a lot of people, at first I didn't like the Gabrielle, and then it really grew on me. So I added my name to the list. I was one of the first ones to get the latest batch from my boutique, so I was really excited when I picked it up. But then I brought it home and thought it had a weird smell - not like anything I had smelled on a purse before - like the leather was very very strong. And then as I contemplated returning it, I realized I really only LOVE the bag when it is worn with the two straps (one strap diagonally on one shoulder and one strap on the other shoulder), but otherwise, it just didn't have my heart. I knew in the end I would reach for my black caviar coco handle or black boy when I needed a casual black Chanel. That being said, I think it is a very chic and cool bag and who knows, maybe I'll end up buying one again down the road!

I did think the medium looks great on me, but generally I carry very little and prefer smaller bags. I have a huge feeling if I get the medium I prob won't reach out to it as often. Congrats on ur new bag!
