I do love the tweed version too - it gives a different vibe than the leather one, more feminine and elegant in my opinion. But as your husband said the leather version will probably last longer and I think that's the one I'm aiming for......

I love this color too, but ok the website it only showed medium. Maybe the small is not hitting any store in US? I might be wrong though
So excited to share my first Gabrielle bag with everyone - it's the black Gabrielle backpack in the new pre-fall (larger) size!!
The four different color chains are in ruthenium, silver, aged gold and shiny gold. It's not too obvious but kind of cool.
Size-wise, it's about an inch higher than the original Gabrielle backpack (and cost about US$400 more). Here's a comparison with my new-medium Boy. The backpack definitely holds more than the Boy but dimensions-wise they are close.
Here is a quickie modelling shot. (I'm 5'5" and US 6) I find it a good size on me. Sorry for the bad lighting.

Sadly I couldn't pick it up myself as I was out of town when the bag arrived (i had to get a friend to get it from the boutique as my SA could not hold it until my return). Next time I have the chance, I'll take a comparison shot to share.

In stores now, not sure about the tweeds. I returned the pink b/c it had more of a two-toned look in different light that I didn't like. I am collecting the small ones for travel, as all my boys don't like to be packed (they smush)
I did get these last week, and I think it's a good starter set for basics for traveling or evenings out. I was SO on the anti-Gabrielle campaign, until I realized that this size and function were impossible to find anywhere else! Zipper, crossbody, bigger than a mini, fits all my essentials, comes in great colors, reasonable price, etc. etc. So, alas, I am a convert! The white on white is coming back for fall, and the purple will be iridescent with iridescent hardware. There will be some black scattered around. Plenty of tweed, but not sure how those will be received??
