although, having thought of it, H used to come up with many more colorways difficult to resist back in 2008-09. it was literally impossible to pick one. now i sometimes struggle to find what works for me - and even if i like many designs, sometimes i end up with nada - because of CW. anyone had the same?

I have had this happen quite a bit - there are some wonderful scarves and CSGMs that I was crazy about but don 't have because I couldn't 't find a cw that works for me. But I keep trying!! And I also loved Year of India - went a bit nuts then.

I can't wait to see the new Kachinas cws and the Dallet cws - I have all of my fingers and toes crossed for at least one cw that I can wear.

I agree completely. Enough already with the mashups.

The horse scarf in the bottom right on picture 4 is the one that they were selling as a special edition at fsh when I was there. Tied it was incredibly boring.

What's going on? Is it just me? I'm not seeing much that I like at all. The colorful on the bottom left in picture 2 might be neat tied. But that's all. [emoji15]

Same here. Even the reissue of Légendes de l'Arbre comes out looking like a mashup. Not feeling any of the designs so far or the colors. I don't usually go for Dallet but it's the only scarf I find truly beautiful even if I probably won't get it.
Oh and the Zénobie CSGM but I already have the 90...

I am gonna be in trouble in the men's department next season. There are a couple of 90s that are maybes (and many we haven't seen yet, of course), but Grrr and C'est la Fete (if that one is actually happening) must be mine. Also, the Dallet CSGM. All large formats, of course. I am so skrood.

These are the two CSGM designs that I am zeroing in on for F/W 16 and there will probably be many CWs that I can't live without but going to restrain myself to just one of each.

They are going overboard with mish -mash designs , so many next season.
I suppose I should get my head around the tying possibilities which will be many , but the weird messiness of the designs makes me feel dizzy .

Exactly. I started gagging when Laboratorie de Temps came in a few years ago. I don't think I've seen many posts of Caucasus from the winter season, either. "mash-ups" is a good term for these extremely busy patterns.

BTW Frou Frou, I will try to post a pix of this but I have this linen suit in a pinky-brownish color that looks very good with one of those garden scarves, I think it's Fantaisies Pittoresques, which came in a craie color combined with a soft pinky burgundy. This is a delicate pattern similar to a toile de jouy as you know. The whole effect, (scarf - top - jacket) is soft and muted, almost pastel.

I could opt for a linen shell (in natural linen color) which looks reasonably ok with the craie. However, mindful of the black top you paired the white cw of Modernisme Tropical, I tried black and was pleasantly surprised. The black set it off better than the natural linen color. I had read that blacks combine well with pastels and now I see it. (I usually don't have a lot of pastels laying around so I didn't know).

I really enjoyed seeing your Modernisme HS because it's a pattern I'm not sure will work for me (unless it will be printed in earth colors eventually). But your comment that the white background one looks good with teal gives me an option to look forward to and check out.

:hugs:

Jula, thank you so much for finding and posting these pictures!
I like the blue-purple-red CWs, but until now there is nothing tempting.
but at the beginning of last season I thought i am save except the "under the waves". And now I got 2 90ies and a CSGM.

Not liking any of these (not a fan of mash ups either), does that mean I can get more preloved ones?:graucho:

EagleYour dusky pink linen with a Fantasie Pittoresque sounds so beautiful!

I'm mindful that someone asked me to show the Modernisme Tropical flat and someone else to show it with teal .I'm sorry I haven't as yet , but tomorrow I'll do it.

My Modernisme is actually pale blue [aqua] with greens and ochre and i'm delighted to say after a rocky start I'm loving it totally .
I'm wearing it with black, dusky pink and blue and not being at all precious about matching but going for either a tonal blend! I'm so glad i didn't get the pink one which was the first to come out here , because the sunny warmth of mine is better for my colouring and more to my taste.

Back to Fall 2016 : Les Legendes de l'Arbre is one of my favourite Annie Faivre designs , I'm curious to know the format and colour ways it's going to come in .

I remember hearing that one of the Dumas family members who was creative director for the company and was very involved in silks is stepping back a bit. I hope what we are seeing is not the result of that change. I'm trying not to worry. We really haven't seen much yet.

Oh no!
I just backtracked and see that the beautiful design Les Legendes de l'Arbre is a mish mash , cut in two diagonally and half is in a contrasting or clashing colour tone on tone, like a finesse .
This seems to be an attempt to be edgy but sorry , I read messy .

Ultimately, all of us will vote with our wallets. If the current designs aren't broadly appealing, I suspect Hermes will take note, though of course it will take time to change direction. I have found that when one season disappoints, the next is often more desirable (to me). . . but I guess we'll see.

I was told this by an SA at the Madison men's store last week but he seemed to think it would be in the same format as the Caducée Rock of F/W15. That would make it more like a CSPM at 100cm. I didn't mention it on here because he was still unsure about the details, but now you also confirm hearing this. GREAT NEWS. Needless to say, my anticipation is already bubbling...this is the holiest of grails for me. However, I do hope it is 100 and not 140 as spending $1100 for one scarf is still a bit out of my comfort zone [especially when facial hair is not the best mix with the CS blend].

I would prefer it to be the 100cm as well, a better price and easier to wear.
I may have been confused, perhaps my SA just said men's cashmere and I assumed a cashmere GM. Fingers crossed it's a 100cm and in good colorways:graucho:

Are you sure?!? that is indeed WOW-News!!!!

But if "GRRRR" is a size 100, do you think they will bring out another Design (C'est la fete) in the same size?

I would love to see H offer more of the 100cm size, so perhaps they will expand the lineup.:smile1:

We all like different designs. It would be boring if we all liked the same thing.

I prefer the busier designs that reach the edge of the scarf. If the scarf had a contrast hem, even better.

On the other hand, I'm very tired of scarves with big cats. A lot of members are very excited about these scarves. To each their own.

The only F/W scarf I'm interested in so far is C'est la Fete. I'm sure that will change once I see all the fall designs and CWs. :p

THIS. At least I think this was me last season although I vaguely remember a CSGM and a few 90cm silks. Going forward this season I am focusing on large format CSGMs only and maybe a few twillys. That's it and hopefully will find them early on.
