I am having a real dilemma and I wonder if you kind tPFers could help me. I will have saved up enough for a new 90cm by the beginning of December, but I am totally stuck between several choices.

I have posted pics before, so you have an idea of my colouring - sort of strawberry blond hair, green eyes, pale skin with a tendency to flush. Sorry this is a bit blurred.

image.jpg

My wardrobe colours are: basics - navy and browns, mainly tan; accent colours - turquoise and the aqua family, purples and lilacs, with some coral and ivory. I am phasing out black and grey as they make me look even more ill!

I spend most of my time in bed or at least sitting in the house. When I go out, I usually wear jeans with cashmere jumpers and cardigans, or t shirts. I rarely dress up.

So, I love a lot of scarves from this season and have already got two. I have to buy via UK Hermès.com as I cannot travel, so it is difficult to see the true colours of the silks.

My favourites are:

Zénobie cw 01 pale pink, dark purple, turquoise

Sieste au Paradis CW 07 honey, green, turquoise

Collections Imperials CW 16 dark slate, turquoise, brown

Arbre du Vent CW 12 blue, fuchsia, turquoise

You can see how much I love turquoise! :D

I also like a 70cm A la Plume CW 19 blue, green, white

Well, of course I actually love loads more!

So, I would be so grateful if you could give me your opinions as to which would suit me best. It is so hard to make the right choice on my own and I cannot afford to make a mistake. Also, if there are other CWs or scarves that you think would be better, please suggest them.

I know this is a lot to ask, but I would really appreciate your help.

It is not too much to ask HermesHope, this will be such fun!

So questions first: How well can you wear red and yellow? (not necessarily together). There's quite a bit of red in that Zenobie. It's my favorite cw as well, and I think the pink and turquoise would be flattering, but not sure about the red, especially if you tend toward redness. So let us know how well you can wear red.

That leads me to yellow, That's a lot of warm colors in the Sieste, and you seem to really glow in the cooler colors like lavender and blue (from just the past couple of posts. Your ZP and your Mediteranee are divine on you. You're radiant in them.) Might I suggest Sieste in cw 14? This has your lavender and blue, which we know is spectacular on you, as well as hits of red and a turquoise contrast border! Mind you, I am very very partial to the Sieste, so keep that in mind. But I am trying very hard to be objective. :graucho:

Your L'Arbre choice is the one I'd have chosen for you, perfect. May I also suggest you look at cw 9? Loads of blue here and it's divine with jeans.

I think your Collections choice is good, as would be cw 15. But perhaps enough with the blue? You may want something entirely different.

For you, my two favorites are the Zenobie and the Sieste in cw 14. Just enough hits of red there to make it different from what you already have?

Hello fair Lady with the beautiful smile!

I think I can be a bit of help:
We look somewhat alike and seem to have similar taste in colors. And I own the Zenobie CW 01. At first I considered it "collateral damage", because I bought it when I went to H to get something different. But I like it soo much: depending on the way it is tied it shows more of the burgundy red and white or the brown or the blue border. The green palm leaves match our eyes. And the red in the center goes well with blushing
I posted a pic some pages ago in this thread

I also tried the Arbre du Vent CW 12, it is of higher contrast, looks rather hard on blondes like us. And I think it is a bit similar to your blue Zebra Pegasus (a design I considered as well)

The orange tones in the Sieste drained all color from my face, but that scarf just does not work for me in at all.
The CI CW 16 is rather dark, also a strong contrast to fair skin. Also the CI feels different when touched, because there is so much color on the silk it seems to be stiffer.

Another one to consider (and a bit cheaper) is the Chasse en Indie Maxi Twilly plum/aubergine/beige.
http://uk.hermes.com/la-maison-des-...-au-83635.html?xtmc=maxi_twilly&xtnp=2&xtcr=3
In reality it is darker than on the website, the aubergine tones seems to be almost brown, the blue and beige pops out nicely against the dark background. But it is a rather dark and very elegant one, absolutely our colours. And Maxi Twillies are fun to play with. (Maybe Santa can bring you one?)

I do not want to push you in any direction, but I love the Zenobie and think it is very flattering to our type.

If you PM me your email adress I might even go so far and send you a pic with my full face and hair sporting Zenobie.

Ow! Just wrote a long reply, then lost it!

Thanks so much for your detailed reply. You have given me a lot to think about! And some other colourways to consider too.

I am fine with touches of red. It is just that I am trying to streamline my wardrobe for my retirement years by paring down the colours. My favourite style website is The Vivienne Files http://www.theviviennefiles.com/ although it is clear the Hermès doesn't follow any ideas like these. The colours used int he scarves are so unusual and interestingly mixed together. So it is hard to work out which go best not only with my face, but also with the clothes I already own.

Anyway, I will carry on thinking until the end of November. Also like Hippopolis too btw.......

Hi HermesHope, totally our pleasure and honor to help choose a gorgeous scarf for a gorgeous lady[emoji173]️ the ladies here have given u excellent advice already. I am leaning towards both the Zenobie and Sieste. I think the colors on the CWs u r considering will look spectacular on u!!! Can't wait to see what u decide [emoji173]️[emoji173]️

HH-
I vote for ll'arbre du vent in CW 12. I recently bought this. We have similar tastes in colors, and I think all the colors would be harmonious with your coloring. I have light hair and fair skin with reddish tints. pLus it has green in it! The colors are softly bright. Of all the scarves I tried this season, this one suited me the best. iT is boxed for Xmas, but I know I will wear this one a lot.

aS much as I love sieste au Paradis, I think it can be challenging to tie/ wear.

Another long reply lost!

Thank you so much for your amazing reply. That Zènobie looks wonderful on you and would go with a lot of things in my wardrobe. I love it and you tie it so well :smile1: I may well PM you for your email - would love to see your pics.

Not so keen on the Maxi Twilly. I don't think the shape is for me and that one is not my favourite pattern. But thank you for thinking of it.

The Zenobie fits in with my love of anything from ancient history. I have been so sad to read about the destruction of ancient Palmyra - all of those beautiful buildings. Although, of course, they are not as important as people.

Many thanks again x

Thank you! Loving all of these suggestions. I have until the beginning of December to decide, so I hope UK Hermès.com does not sell out when I do! That would be really annoying. Has happened before. I lost the chance for a blue Voyage de Pytheas last year.

Yes, I really love this one and it has all of my favourite colours in it! Can I manage to save up again before they disappear from the website? Hmmm, would take until February and by then I might be seduced by the SS 2016 scarves! :graucho::graucho:

I have to admit that was one of the reasons I almost did not get it: I was afraid wearing it will remind me of what was/is going on there. When I was younger I wanted to become an archaeologist and the main researcher of Palmyra died with his city. But on the other hand it honours a strong woman.

Thank you! Loving all of these suggestions. I have until the beginning of December to decide, so I hope UK Hermès.com does not sell out when I do! That would be really annoying. Has happened before. I lost the chance for a blue Voyage de Pytheas last year.

If I were you and had the money ready I would not wait. At the moment they offer free shipping and it does not say for how long they will do so. And things tend to disappear without a warning. My grail can still be ordered from the US website, but is impossible to get in Europe :nogood:
